I have qualified for an upgrade as I only purchased MuLab 5 last month, I'm just happy to contribute to improving an already great piece of software!fluffy_little_something wrote:I just think it is interesting how getting a license for free motivates people. I mean, unless Jo has rewritten half of Mulab, I suppose most if not all of those issues described here were already present in previous versions...

So, since you have M5, were those issues already present in M5 as well?

I will upgrade as well... Regardless if I can't use Waves Element. Although I love that synth.

I've been updating my keyboard shortcuts in V6 and I noticed that my snap shortcut wouldn't activate in the edit screen... So, you have to select a note then it will activate? Seems like that's backward, i.e. I would deactivate and then select/edit the notes? Maybe I'm missing something there... I use keyboard shortcuts a lot. Any time I can cut down on "menu selections" I consider more time to compose.

Ah. It's been a while.Hermu wrote:each mixer rack have on top left a "+" button to change the mixer rack size for extended rack view.jonljacobi wrote:Some definite improvements. Love the Compose/Edit/Modular buttons at the top. Love the new approach to the main window. Like the new thin mixer view. How do you change the size?
in extended rack view there is a "-" button to get thin mixer rack view.
with [Shift] and top left button "+" or "-" you can change the size for all mixer racks.

question...
(this happens in older versions of mulab as well...)
I use a good amount of audio clips... but if I start moving audio parts around while the track is playing, I get really small drop-out glitches, and playback gets out of sync for a split second... my computers not the newest for sure, but it's not super old either and the cpu meter is quite low when this happens(below 10). With other daws I don't get drop outs while moving audio files....
In other daws if I use really heavy cpu intesive vsti's and change presets while playing I'll get a drop out... but if I"m just messing around with audio clips it's no problem.
could it be an xp issue? just trying to pinpoint whats going on.
thx

I love the new Rack design, it's much neater, but I find I am missing the small buttons for opening devices when each Rack is collapsed. I'd like these brought back. But, the trouble is, the new Racks look good as they are. So maybe bring back the buttons, but make them smaller than in M5, perhaps the size of the current M6 would suit best or maybe slightly more compact when Rack collapsed? This would keep the minimal look and feel and add the functionality back in.
If the intention is to keep the collapsed Rack size to a minimum, which I would most definitely agree on, so as to allow for more collapsed Racks on screen when mixing, then perhaps make the Fader and VU slightly narrower to allow for the extra button column.

I think the racks are perfect the way they are, except for the missing yellow, orange, and red bars in the meters.
If you have so many racks that you feel like you need to collapse them, it is hard to remember which rack contains which components (effects mostly) and in which order, so the expand and on/off buttons would not make much sense with collapsed racks imho.

It's not your computer, it's caused by an internal protection switch while changing data structures while you're changing the composition. I've researched this and can't avoid it on very short term (M6.0) but it's on the wishlist to be finetuned in a future version.bbreakz wrote:(this happens in older versions of mulab as well...)I use a good amount of audio clips... but if I start moving audio parts around while the track is playing, I get really small drop-out glitches, and playback gets out of sync for a split second... could it be an xp issue? just trying to pinpoint whats going on.

A tooltip showed what was loaded and as we don't all have superwide Hi-res screens, it doesn't take many expanded Racks to fill it! I just checked, to be sure, 6 Racks is all I can fit on my screen, and that's assuming they're all together with no collapsed Racks between any of them.fluffy_little_something wrote:I think the racks are perfect the way they are, except for the missing yellow, orange, and red bars in the meters.

If I wanted to look for where an Effect was placed in which Rack, I have to expand all Racks to find it. Whereas before I could hover over the little white buttons in M5. Easier!

Tip: You can expand all racks in 1 go via right-click on the collapse/expand button in the top-left of a rack.
