Maybe we can create a Top 5 out of all users who post here their TOP 5?
I will start with my TOP 5 requests:
1.renaming containers
2.an option inside the Bitwig sampler that sample playback on different pitches dont causes a speed change
3.Drag&Drop Audio to Browser should save it as WAV File and on the location where I drag&dropped it
4.shuffle dont follow shuffle automation dynamically
5.Timbre as Modulation source for parameters of Third Party Instruments
(alternative 5.: -a XY shaper for Macros to assign as example equal power crossfades or a fast change at the beginning and slow at the end)

Good list. I'd add:
-Renaming parameters in the device panel mapping pages.
-An unbouce from audio (anything that was bounced in place on a hybrid track back to midi like in studio one)
-A way to turn off devices completely so they don't use CPU. Every DAW has this
-An indication in the plugin parameter list that a parameter has been mapped to a device page. Like leave the dot. Have a o dot for each mapping maybe since you can put a parameter in multiple pages.
-Allow adding third party plugins inline with the "+"

1) better cpu use
2) drag and drop audio clip from arrange/clip launcher to other plugins (Kontakt, Battery, Harmor etc..)
3) bypass button on automation tracks
4) freeze function
5) bypass a plugin directly in the mixer (shift+click=bypass?)
6) key-mapping assignable by the user on the fly (ableton)
7) colors/renaming in layers and containers
crossfades (!)
9) better timeline
10) offline a plugin to freeup resources (cubase, reaper)

MIDI workflow!
1) Chase long notes/events. This is the only reason I haven't bought Bitwig yet.
2) Step recording like in Live.
3) Unfreeze/Unbounce audio to MIDI as listed above (is this really not implemented?).
4) CC curve editor in Arrange/Piano roll mode without replacing piano roll (basically the Cubase way instead of the Live way but without having to switch to Edit mode to get it).
5) Ability to apply histogram/snazzy scale and reposition tools to arbitrary note parameters (especially start and length separately).

1: Stereo width+pan control directly in the channel, not just the tool plugin
2: Track Delay with negative values, like -5ms
3: Chord Track, wich suggests chord combinations like in Cubase
4: Midi filter where you can enter a Root Key and a scale, and it filters out every wrong note or shifts it to the next suitable
5: Surround Support

1. PDC for external outs implemented. This is huge and it pisses me off that it has been left out this long.
2. Group Tracks(simply for organization for me not for routing).
3. Fix issue with hardware FX router where when you reload project it doesn't work.
4. Rename of containers
5. Ability to stretch 1 screen across two monitors.
6. FIX THE GODDAMN SOLO BUTTONS FOR EXTERNAL OUTS. IT DOESNT WORK. NEVER HAS.

1. Better handling of external hardware, MIDI AND AUDIO ( PDC for ext MIDI and audio tracks, Solo that actually works with different ext outs...)
2. Group Tracks
3. Midi Chorder or even better : chord track like in cubase
4. Offline plugins and freeze option
5. ability to "lock" a screen layout : working with 3 screens for example when you select a track the FX chain appears on all 3 screens simultaneously, it's a bit annoying
6. automatic volume envelope directly on containers or clip like in cubase

My number 1!!xanthos wrote:A keyboard shortcut to show/hide all automation lanes at once.
2: fx on only 1 arrangeclip instead of whole track. And render in place WITHOUT making another track!(and with selectable time tail.
3: midi to sample in drum machine , so when i hit a key on keyboard that pad wil be selected.
4:click on sequencer/piano key only selects the notes within the selected clip, NOT the whole song! alt+click whole song?
5: And when you,re in layered editing, you can drag pieces to the track below or above

1. Change mapping for virtual midi keyboard. Only one octave is not enough. Look at the Renoise tracker, the FruityLoops, etc. They are let me use almost all PC keyboard for midi input.
2. Make BWS dialog windows "always on top". It's very uncomfortably, when BWS dialogs created behind the VST window.
3. Group tracks of course.

My top 2 in addition to the track grouping / routing that is currently scheduled...
1. Ghost / cloned clips so that you can edit non-contiguous clips as a single entity.
2. Fix the polyphony weirdness bug in the sampler instrument (logged with support)

1. better consolidation behaviour with audio tracks (http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 1#p5790551)
2. Edit clips (like in Tracktion 5)/a cool comping feature.
3. Freeze points(like in Tracktion 5)
4. Sampler device that can contain audio clips(including timestretch algorithm, audio events) instead of only samples
5. Note FX that contains note clips which will be played back as a sequence (pitch depending on the pressed key).
6. MSEG MOD device that contains automation data(which can be copied/pasted between arrangement and device):
7. feedback audio routing between tracks and sends (also sends should be able to be fed into themselves) (like in Ableton Live)
8. allowing of bouncing of 'empty' tracks (which just get the audio routed in from other tracks)
9. allowing of recording midi notes from the note editor audition to another instrument track(like in Ableton Live)
10.
EDIT(22-7-2014):
11. Configurable Workflow Makro Skripting (like in Studio One)
12. Costomizable shortcuts
13. Free Note/MIDI routing inside Bitwig! (e.g. for retriggering LFOs on audio tracks)
14. 'per-track-master-fx-chain' (the devices you insert here will be on the end of every track's chain, and you can select parameters on them that are shown directly on the mixer(like sends))

Aside from the routing and the D&D issues I'm fairly happy to work with BWS as is and accept the features as they come.
I'm just not comfortable with so many instances of plug-ins.
That said, you guys keep up the good suggestions
Some interesting reading going on in this thread.
Happy Musiking!
