from http://www.energy-xt.com/index.php?id=0115  it would be so nice (and where is BWS 1.1 :wheee: it needs midi routing and multi-outs handling ... )

ok seems it's working just needs midi routing with freely settable channel numbers, pls BWS

I have just tryed the demo. I tryed to rewire Live to Bitwig. No luck, when opening live it seems to start in rewire slave mode but the program doesn´t load, it stays in the init window. Then live crashed and I couldn´t close bitwig without cntrl+alt+del :-(

PC Laptop windows 7 32 bit

I haven't tried with Live (not interested: both ones use the VST world ) but Reason seems working if it gets the MIDI data from one or more Hardware Instruments(through some virtual midi cable like loopBE), which ones can be routed to different channels using the same port - and the playhead info from the ReWire VST itself

so yepp we've got Reason :D inside Bitwig (there is no multi-out vsti support in BWS so I have had to use a mixer inside Reason) only the multi-outs handling is missing to able to add fx chains to the instruments independently from each other but hopefully BWS 1.1 is almost here

I couldn't get this to work, no matter what I tried. I tried Reason (version 6), 32 and 64 bit, on both my Windows 7 and OS X computers, and the Rewire VST would never detect Reason inside of Bitwig. Gave up on it... did it just work for you on the first try?

Post

I gonna check with Reason 7.1 tomorrow ... dunno ... yepp it worked instantly otherwise (win8.1x64)

I only tried the demo version of the VST. Did you by any chance try that, or did you just get the full version right away? I wonder if the demo is out of date, or in any way different from the full version. :/

Post

as u can see on the first picture in this topic the demo was also good, this is why I've bought it finally, ofc. Live has much more advanced solution with M4L devices /Reason devices can be fully controlled by Live which also gets back the devices infos /

but at least it's working (for me :ud: )

Oh, don't get me started. :)

Live's Rewire integration (even without Max devices) is like butter (at least from a frontend perspective). Using the External Instrument device was so simple and logical to get data to and from Reason, and contrasting to other solutions (like JACK), opening/saving projects with this stuff intact was seamless - even across different computers.

I'm loving Bitwig so far, but there are large things that are definitely slowing us down (or halting us), production-wise. I guess it's to be expected for a 1.0, and I'm excited about future workflow improvements, but I'm definitely coming up empty a lot of times when my music partner asks why we can't do something in Bitwig. That said, PDC issues were a problem in Live. I guess you can't have everything, but I dream of Bitwig's Hardware Instrument integrating proper Rewire communication just like Live's External Instrument.

Glad it's working for you though. I posted on the Rewire VST forums a long time ago with no response. :)

have u tried to copy its ReWire.dll to c:\Windows\SysWOW64\ , it's in the %commonprogramfiles(x86)% ... Propellerhead Software\ReWire folder then restart the whole thing, installing Reason 7.1 meantime ... uno momento :)

Man I tried every combination of client (32/64 bit) AND operating system (Win7, OS X) with no luck. The fact that it didn't work on both OS's made me think the VST just doesn't work - but it obviously does work for you. I'll give the directory placement a shot in your previous post, but I'd definitely need it working on both PC and Mac to work out for our production, as we edit the same projects on both platforms a lot.

Yes it works in bitwig, using the right tools is the key! Use the 32 64 bit rewire bridge and May sure you have your rewire in Romans.

I tryed the other link but that other one dose not work but lucky this link works. You might have to restart bitwig but that's easy if reason dose not show up the first time try again. It also works in Gig Performer.
