Nano Kontrol and RD700sx wont talk to Receptor 2

Hello, wondering if this is a simple usb issue.

I have a Receptor 2 up and running, OS 1.9. I'm connected over USB to my RD700sx as a master. Good controller, awesome to be able to mold the sounds of the receptor and the RD together. But as a controller for organ? Crud.

So I bought a Nano Kontrol from Korg. Cool piece of gear. I still use windows XP sp3 :scared: and so that took about three hours to get it up and running... registry edits and all...plug and play just doesn't exist in my windows world.

Now, I can't get the Kontrol and the RD to talk to receptor at the same time. One works, then the other works. But never both so... idk.. What I think may be the issue: They are both going over USB.

I hope that's not the case, bc I really wanted to be able to use a second midi controller with the nano kontrol and rd in the near future, and if Midi is already taken up... that's going to be a bummer.

On a side note of the same issue -- is there any way to easily switch between source CC's and the master cc's? I have the Kontrol set up so that the first "set" controls 8 mixer channels and the master, and another set that controls B4ii wonderfully (except that for some reason both drawbars move with the faders...).

It would be AWESOME if someone figured this out.

Yes, I think that only one USB midi device is supported. I use a midi merger (from midi solutions) to support multiple (5pin) midi devices.

I did the same thing as Fedde, using a midi merger for my keyboard and a pad controller and USB for the Korg Nanokontrol (it doesn't have a midi 5 pin out). The 2.01 operating system upgrade fixes the multi usb input issue.

Only one USB MIDI device is supported in Receptor 2 unless you upgraded to 2.0.1.

If you don't want to do the upgrade, you could use the iConnect MIDI device to serve as a SUB MIDI device hub, or use a MIDI merge box...

Just for the record, this is true of the R2 and previous models, newer Receptors support USB MIDI devices on all ports simultaneously.

Oh well then. Thanks for the advice! I ended up running the Rd over midi, and all goes well. It can only control 4 channels, but with its on board sounds, too, this has become quite the powerful rig... a little more time consuming than my wife would like.

I guess I'll be saving up for 2.01 after all. Wonder if it will go on sale...
