neverenoughfunk wrote:Peter, are the box version on schedule? i almost cant wait to test ST 3 out... another question... will the box version be a little more straight forward to install... i.e. just execute the app, point dll to the vst libraries and point sounds/patches to a folder?

:tu:
From the latest news item at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?item_id=4464
The boxed version will be shipping in the second half of August 2014.
EDIT - The DVD installer is a single installer that installs everything automatically to the proper place, including plug-ins, standalone and the sound library. You can select a specific destination for the library (34GB) and then everything is done automatically including the correct disk path selection in the ST3 prefs.

Sorry, posts are happening faster than I can keep up.......

Yes that is strange. What multis are giving the Can't Find Samples message ? I only installed the ST 3 content so far for just this reason. Maybe Peter has an idea ? I used some Instruments I created in a few of the Multis but they use only ST3 content. Maybe I have to upload the Instruments as well ?

Thanks :tu:
No, thank you for the kind words. :)
I wonder why there are missing samples errors ? I only used the factory content. Can you tell me which 4 won't load please ?
I think your presets use some of the expansion tank packs so that's probably the issue. Someone earlier mentioned that they needed to get Cinematik to make one of the presets work.
No, I'm talking about the ones I released earlier today. Those only use the ST3 content. The Multis I released for ST 2.5 do use several expansion tanks, Sonik Synth Mirosalv etc.......... :)
Bombadil wrote: Teksoniks's Multis are quite nice, though I am getting one 'not found' message, and the guitar multi just choked my CPU and crashed Core Audio on the standalone. :dog:
Are you talking about the ones I released today ?
Yes.

Don't know, if anybody will judge 4,000 instruments from just one demo [edit - and I'm not sure about the intent of the performance either] of a single sound in a set meant to have a large variety then I suppose that's their prerogative.
My intent was solely to demonstrate the solo voice of 'Ella.' There was no real way for me to prettify it. From the robotic voice to the fact that it is almost impossible to keep a relatively steady velocity, it is not my doing, it is the developers.

about the main app... i would install everything from the DVD(s) and then get the latest main app from the user area after authorizing?

Actually, I checked with the developers. You may have some issue, then, if it was not intentionally edited: "That is not a performance of the programmed version, it sounds like it has been changed to or does not have the correct envelope, vibrato, etc." If you'd like tips on how to use the programmed sounds as they are or how to better edit or perform with them, please visit our forum. Apologies if these were intentional programming changes on your part, in that case yes I think it sounds bad and not because of the sound as it exists in ST3 as what was posted was not the programmed sound from SampleTank 3 according to the ST3 team.

Sorry, edited for flow and had the quoting wrong. Thank you.

Yes, I would authorize and get the main app first though. That way you can even spot check along the way as you install sounds and such.

Peter, I didn't edit the voice in any way. It is as it is loaded. Someone else, a few pages back, confirmed that this was the sound.

The 3 Filtrex multis all show the same error message.

The Steel/Nylon multi gives my CPU fits (i7 Quad-core). I've confirmed it is the 'resonance' effect.

Then there is something else going on based on what the team said when they heard it. Neither one sound, nor that demo, is representative of the quality of SampleTank 3's library in any case.
