Hi,

Well, I'm a very happy T user since some months but I have to make a full backup in order to reinstall XP.

My plugins are in c:\audio so I think I will save this folder first.

But what about all my built-in sampler patches? What about the setup? What about the saved patches for some synth plugins?

Sorry about this noob question, but I really need to know what I have to save to be sure all my projects will open fine after a clean windows install.

Thanks for your advices

I think you will need:

o The tracktion settings file
o Your plugin folder
o Your project folders
o Tracktion itself

I don't know for sure, but reports are that if you reinstall XP, your machine number may change, so you may need to change that on my.mackie.com and download a new key. Don't do it too often in a short period of time or you'll be blocked from changing your key for 30 days. If you are going to have a few tries at the reinstall, work off the demo until it stabilises.

Thank you for your answer.
what is "traktion settings file" and where can I find it?

Post

you should find a file just called settings in your c:\windows\application data\tracktion folder (assuming you have a standard, single user windows 98 installation... under 2000/XP you'll have to look in the relevant users application data folder)
