craigtumps wrote:Hey thanks for that, quite a nice little tool. Kinda crazy that I can drag and drop from that external tool into the machine within Bitwig but I cant drag and drop from Bitwigs own internal browser!

Hey man, thanks a lot xbitz, just what I needed! I didnt even think someone would make a vst just for that :)

Something else to add to my list of Bitwig features.

3. Ability to group tracks.
4. Release the Asio device when closing the program. (When I close Bitwig I have to turrn off the audio engine otherwise no more sound)

Has to be added for a 400 dollar program:

1. Fix Image-Line Harmor's inability to use "Smart automation". It doesn't respond to the clients way of doing things. I understand this might be an Image-Line issue and I reported there and their response is "don't expect to be fixed anytime soon". Please shut them up. I'm pretty sick of their crap.

2. Quick swap for samples within a sampler or drum machine. Similar the Ableton's little circle-with-arrows thing that allows you to just click on samples and drop them in. Dragging and dropping every single sample for audition is time consuming and annoying. Would be nice for instruments too but less of an issue than trying to find a snare drum that sits in the mix right now.

3. Fade handles on clips. Even if it's just raw audio it needs to be there.

4. Sidechain with the Dynamics FX : use specific parts of the drum machine and not just the entire drum machine. Ie: Select Drum Machine(Kick) from the drop down. Right now I'm forced to deal with 2 so I split out everything into samplers anyway because the drum machine container is just largely useless.

5. Quick grouping and track folders.

6. Multi-outs. I'm a big fan of Battery and Kontakt which both kinda need it.

Would be nice:

1. A "macro" container. Just 8 more knobs that I can stick on the existing 8 at the front of the chain. Because more knobs for morphing and saving racks is fun. Synths like Harmor leave a lot of info behind in screens and it would be nice to make bigger dashboards to drive these.

2. Better plugin organization. Maybe a favorites system , but I'd love a Daw that in 2014 would just let me build a folder system IN the daw instead of picking up a structure within the OS where stuff can't always be moved around without a total reinstall without messing up compatibility and what not. I have everything already pretty logical already but the system plugins having their own forced arrangement throws a huge wrench in that. I get that containers (or racks or whatever they are called) are supposed to be the "favorites" but it's implying that I have to find the plugin first. I don't understand the attitude that DAWS break their own plugins up from third party and create more chaos within the sorting. Never have. It makes me just not use the built in plugins, but in this case I have to use things like containers, FX chains, Dynamics is great for easy sidechain and so forth, but 3 out of all of that folder sorting is just more clicks.

EDIT: Just to be honest after I got used to typing stuff in the browser I wanted to use instead of clicking, it's MUCH faster anyway. So this should probably still be a thing for people that need it but type browser FTW.

3. Turn the # of samples in a folder OFF in the browser. That sounds picky but it doesn't need to be shown. Just less visual clutter please.

4. I just read into people's ideas for Ghost clips. YES please

Have you tried "Fx chain" for this?

Good point, I don't really care about that all.

Hmm you are right! I often overlook the whole "inception" level thing. New way of thinking!

7. I feel like hitting Ctrl+A with the midi editor open should select the all of the notes. I've deleted my entire project a few times out of habit.

EDIT:

I see that it actually DOES do this, but ONLY if I click the midi data button at the bottom first. I can't just double click a clip and hit ctrl+a to move stuff around.

So it's Click the clip, Hit E, then ctrl+A (But it doesn't always work? Feels really buggy)

All this "focus command" stuff just needs to disappear. If I click on something that means I focused it. The toggle buttons are SUPER wonderful. Just think the mouse click should have "focus command" functionality.

8. Change hotkeys.

If I could map all the views to 1-2-3-4 and all my focus around WADS like I'm playing a video game I'd be in heaven.

1 more: hiding tracks...
More to come.... :clown:

Post

signal routing: please allow "sends" on effects tracks to send for instance to other FX tracks...

please allow more enhanced wave visualization, since fine-tuning wave editing ability of BWS makes no sense if you can't see your wav!

please allow arranger track resizing/enlarging within arrangement window

BWS has great transient detection - please allow for groove substitution/editing

pls. better support for melodyne editor

much thanks - the product has really grown on me.

Just another FR:
Can you make it possible to make an interface for Bitwig to enable developers (or maybe also users) to do something like this? :

Changing latest Samples with middle mouse button (like in fl) is faster then to always drag and drop them.
