Actually, it has been discussed a few times: I have mentioned that both the pianos and bases sound great, somewhere in this thread; just in case you missed it, I am saying it again 8)

I think a couple of things need to be put into perspective about this release:

1. ST3 has taken too long to produce, given the amount of hype that both IKM and its customers have perpetuated. No matter what, and even if you released the most perfect product, you had to expect these types of responses, right? On Facebook, Twitter, KVR, and on your own forum, you have produced so many stops and starts to this product it's amazing people are responding as positively as they have been. All things considered, I would take the mixed responses as a compliment ;)

2. KVR is a notoriously tough crowd. People here express their mind freely, and with that comes things that are difficult to hear. Many folks here are seasoned and quite intelligent; they can see through the difference between embedded marketing messages and genuine responses. When you mix marketing messages -- outside of the ads that exist to the right and top of us -- into a conversation between music enthusiasts you need to expect a certain amount of backlash. Frankly, I find it disorienting, confusing, and even humorous at times that marketing language shows up so frequently in our discussions. I understand this reflects the time we live in -- product placement and embedded marketing have become commonplace --; still, be honest with yourself about how your delivery is going to translate here.

In all, I am less disappointed than I expected to be. FWIW, I am somewhat disappointed, but think it is still worth the upgrade price of $99 -- I wouldn't pay more than that though  I do think the criticisms that this product is out of step with other modern releases, has a library with several sketchy and downright unusable sounds, and misses the mark in a few places are all fair. The importance of 64 bit is to allow more access to memory; tell me, how is this useful if the sounds are only a few megabytes? Also, the CPU usage for the "Acoustic Resonance" effect is unacceptable -- it should never have passed the beta stage.

Right now, I still think this product has potential. Imo, if you want to succeed, beyond the initial success you had at this release, I would suggest listening to some of these criticisms; of course, that is up to you and IKM :-)

Thank you for putting this so elegantly. My frustration is getting the better of me, and with it, my patience. I have to explain to my dear wife, who bought this for me as a present, that it just doesn't cut it. She is about as unimpressed with some of the sounds (as well as the CPU issues) as I am.

Sorry for the voices stuff...
Don't know if I ever posted these here. Little piano demos that hopefully work a little bit better.

Of course we are, there's consideration and discussion of all of the suggestions, comments, constructive criticism, etc daily. I wouldn't bother being here if it didn't work that way. I have had a range of responses to relayed information like "hey that's a great idea, that's going straight to the devs" to "we need to add this category/more sounds in that category/improve those/etc" and anywhere between and beyond. So the experience and sounds should be expanded and improved and it will evolve like any other great product based on this. Just because I respond and it isn't exactly what you wanted to hear, I'd think that the "notoriously tough crowd" could handle what's given being given back and that it means there's actual discourse and you're not being blown off.

Discourse doesn't bother me. Trying to minimize the issue of the solo vocal samples that were posted (I mean the ones posted without any obviously over the top FX on them), bothers me. I was just playing around with ST3, and I can tell you that the Sampletron voices are better than the new solo voices in ST3.

It wasn't being minimized, they were brought to the attention of the right people and notice was taken. I have stated that both the sounds and the posted demos of those vocals here are not indicative of the overall quality of the library and I do think that not downloading the content, if based on those examples, means you are missing out. Hopefully that wasn't the reason you didn't download the content.

Most of the content is fine. There are things to be worked out, and I hope that they will be. It just doesn't live up to IK's marketing, imo. Right now, I am not really have a lot of trouble in Logic WHEN I am loading the legacy instruments, or their multis. The trouble occurs when I change the new instruments and/or fx with the new instruments in the parts.

Another thing I would like to see would be the ability to lock the fx in the Master out. Every time I change a multi, I have to re-instantiate the master fx that I set up.

Good 'nuff. I appreciate the response, and look forward to seeing what comes next :)

i meant, i was disappointed with the sound.

as for not d'loading the libraries ?? well, that is mainly because i am planning on replacing my boot drive, and reinstalling from scratch. this could happen this month, or maybe not. that is something that has no real relevance to this thread, i guess, other than the fact that i am just not excited enough (given all the audio demos, thus far), to go through the whole download > install > register process, only to have to maybe do it again, next month

anyway, you know i was never in the market for this. my rapid about-face was due to the no-brainer allowing for miroslav integration at a much cheaper price than i would have expected (and much sooner than the 'free' option). i did, however, maintain that i would be able to justify the price with a handful of useful sounds, and voices were one of the areas i had an interest in

i have to say, i just don't get it. i will, of course, reserve full judgment till i have played with it properly.

Do we have a demo download yet?

We'll get it out very soon, barring any major issues with it. I don't have a hard date to share yet but it shouldn't be long.

Just let us know asap?
How about them relaxing the transfer fees?
Where are they on that?
