Should quantizing of note endings be optional?

When I quantize, the note endings get quantized also. I would rather that quantization not effect my note durations.

Possibly it would be good as an option.

How does this work in other hosts?
What is the most common method of quantizing?
How do others feel about this?

Edit;
 I just found out that this already exists.
Click on quantize and there is a list of options.

I brought this subject up quite a while ago, and suggested that we have to potion of quantizing note ends or leaving lengths intact. I believe Jules said it would go in as a version 2 feature. I hope that will be the case as at the moment I often end up with pretty much zero length notes when quantizing.

It's good to know that jules is aware of it.
I find that I can't really make much use of it the eway it is now. It only works well on drums where note length is fairly meaningless. I'd like to be able to use it on bouncy or syncopated bass lines as well.

What quantize? Clip quantize?
Ah yes, I see what you mean. Sometimes it's irritating, but not hugely.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

:? you can quantize only the start-times...

both lenght and and start-times get quantized with
the quick-quantize-function, true, but there's also
another quantize-function...

Hey Jens, where do I find it? It's not a secret is it?

Still waiting for it in groove quantize though.

That's fine if you want 100% quantize, but I nearly always use less than 100% which is only available on the clip properties. (Unless something's changed and I missed it!)

I am trying to apply a qroove quantize to a midi clip, but it isn't making any visual or audible difference, doesn't matter what % I put it at, although all the other quantize features (both for clips and selected notes) are working as they should. What am I doing wrong, or is it a bug? :?
