Hear, hear. It's about trying to squeeze a little more money out of some of their existing customers, it's ridiculous, it's such a bad policy that it obviously backfires, and it speaks volumes for the mindset of whichever fool came up with the idea in the first place.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote: it's all just arbitrary, punitive, and designed to make a little cash off those who didn't get their shit together (or worse, when tragedy strikes in some way). peter might be relaying these 'concerns' to his bosses, but i don't expect any explanation to come. as such, i'll be happy to share my theories on the type of business model ikm seems to operate. such a shame that i spent money on this, when i could have put the money to 'komplete' crossgrade a few days later.
Who on Earth will buy ST3 at the full price now that we know what it's like, and what IKM are like? Komplete 9 is only £100 more, and look at how much you get with that.
Like I said before, they will never admit they are wrong, never say "We're really sorry that we charged you XYZ amount for re-downloading, we have decided to REFUND all customers who have paid a re-download fee, and remove the charges permanently." Imagine the kudos they'd get if they did that? But they won't - because some fool's ego is at stake.
And I would like to reiterate; most hosting services offer UNLIMITED bandwidth nowadays. I would link to various examples, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to on here. Just Google 'hosting unlimited bandwidth'. There is NO reason for them to charge anything at all.
