I receved the following e-mail reply from Thomas (the developer of Chainer) on June 10, 2004:
Hello,

the development of Chainer has stopped at the moment. The future of Chainer is still undecided.

Regards,
Thomas Potulski
I was a bit surprised that I received a response at all. I followed up with a polite e-mail commenting on how great Chainer is, and encouraging Thomas to continue development but never received another reply. I'm using Console (www.console.jp) now and aside from the modular GUI, I really like it. I've requested some new features for Console and (remarkably) the developers have promised to implement them before the year's end. On the other hand, I got the same promises from Thomas, so who knows what will become of it :? . Still waiting for the perfect VST host :D. Even with the delays, I'd upgrade in a second if a new version of Chainer came out.

It's just a shame that such a great unique application could disappear. What with Chainer, Muzy's, etc, we need to start a software obituary .

Just grasping at straws, but that almost reads like he's working for another developer. Bigwigs get pretty picky about what their employees do in their spare time.

Like I said . . .just guessing . . .
