Bazille patch competition 2 has :

Toy Wars, HELP ME! PLEASE! HELP ME!, Interleave in "Monster from the Deep"
The Primes in "Map Madness"

Bazille patch competition 1 has:

CZ Style Bass in "Giant Bass"

I'm not sure where Acid Kick is.

OK, well ...

'The Primes' is my patch and 'CZ Style Bass' is attributed to a 'Phillip B.'; I'm not sure who did the others spotted. Along with this thread, another thread here on KVR ( http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 1&t=417151 ) suggests people may not be properly credited when their patches are being used in this series? Certainly I have not been contacted by Groove3 or Scottie Dugan about the patch being used here.

Being uncredited feels like being plagiarized. Am I overreacting? I can't tell as I don't have access to the videos.

Yeah, you are probably overreacting but it would have been extra cool if he had credited you and the others. The patches made for the competitions are pretty much part of Bazille now, so like in a lot of synth tutorial/review videos, patch authors aren't named often. On top of that, I'm not sure if he actually had the Author names when he made the video because those competition soundsets were stripped of author names for voting.

I'm a noob to sound-design but this is kind of the feeling I get from it. If it was a released 3rd party soundset that he was using, I'm sure he would have credited better.

Haven't watched it yet but "HELP ME! PLEASE!,etc." was one of my patches. If he used it, I'm happy!

I agree it would have been nice to be credited. Unfortunately we would like to publish the non-anaonymized competition entries with the final version, we did not want double or triple downloads of the same patches. Therefore Groove3 hadn't had a name for each entry.

However, it's in the nature of the Patch Competition that those patches are made publicly available. What happens then is that whoever downloads them can use them in their music and other works, including paid for commercial videos. If this wasn't the case, there was no point in us doing patch competitions, and we'll stop right here.

Furthermore, the patch competition rules have a fine print which gives us the right to distribute these patches. If someone isn't happy with that, he can't take part.

What's not cool is that without contacting us, someone has sent a DMCA take down notice to groove3. That's absolutely inacceptable and it has damaged our collaboration with them. I hope this gets solved quickly.

That is very odd for someone to do. The "fine print" part of the patch competition rules is in clear and concise language and I can't imagine why anyone would think it was a negative thing to have their patches shown in a video like that. It's free publicity for the sound-designers involved.

Well, the names of the preset designers weren't mentioned.

OTOH I have yet to see any other tutorial/promotional video on such a platform where people mention the names of the preset designers.
