i've imported all Xpansion Tanks, Miroslav full, XL, SampleTron and a couple of Sonic Reality libraries with no problem.

the key is that you restart sampletank after 3-4 libraries. otherwise each library takes progressively more time to import due to memory leaks.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

I understand what you mean, but it is like pretending the TR909 has realistic drums and no machine gun. If you need a realistic drum in a song... well... you call a real drummer. You don't actually know what you're talking about with realistic drums, though. I always want realistic drums and I have never called a drummer or set up in a room, I always do it at home in BFD2 and now BFD3. People I know with great discernment capacity don't question it, & the person that isn't involved as a user of the technology would never feature that it isn't real.

The world of samples for viable live-sounding music is here now and for many things has been for some years. It's a matter of chops, really.
There is no analogy with synths, that's word salad, 'it's like pretending the TR909...'. It isn't like that at_all.
Something is limited to machine gun or it has sussed it, as a matter of plain fact.
I don't know what 'electronic music' specifically has to do with real drums anyway, now you're on about 'drum machines' and caring about aping 'vintage' gear. If you want 'moog brass' today, get Monark. Get with 2014.
Speak for yourself, your experience doesn't extrapolate to an overarching statement about the state of things.

I know what I thought about drum machines in the 1980's (which has nothing to do with the price of tea in China). It was the means to an end, just as was the Ensoniq Mirage for us in those days.

Have you reported alleged memory leaks? If this can be replicated and indeed identified as such, it would get reported to development and fixed.

why does the video end before showing how it works in a real life situation... i.e. if i hit program change button on the 4th beat of the measure... will the new patches be loaded by the first beat of the next measure?

Right near the beginning of the video you can see the multis for each section of a song loading lightning fast because they take advantage of background loading (and those are being triggered from a controller using MIDI program changes, FYI). The speed at which each Multi will load depends on how complicated the Multi is, of course, so you'd need to prepare and practice accordingly as with any performance. Since the samples are preloaded, this is an extremely fast process compared to simply loading a Multi.

You should have the opportunity to use this feature when the free version is available for demo purposes as it will allow the use of Live mode just like the full version - we're targeting later this week.

Memory leaks or not, I had the same experience. If I had to do it over again I would force quit it before every library build and let it rebuild on startup. It was very snappy only on the first rebuild, for me. But I was worried a force quit would cause other problems. As a result, importing the libraries took a whole day (day and night finishing at about 1 AM). And 90 percent of that time was rebuilding the directory. :(

That wasn't the case for me and others even with my MacBook Air that is below those specs for sure. Report it to support and they'll verify if there is a global issue and get it fixed. Thanks - http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support

And now I am finding more and more patches won't play, this time from Miroslav. The patch names are there, but there's no sound, even when the Core Audio is working. I go to the edit menu, get the map just to make sure, click on the notes with the mouse, and nada. I am starting to get really pissed off. I've taken the original Miroslav and samples off my computer. SJFC.

I'm starting to wonder if IK did any testing on the other end of the spectrum in system requirements?
I'm starting to notice a pattern where if you have too much power for their projection, it has problems?

Was it that difficult for IKM to just rebuild in ST3 format the old Miroslav, Sampletron, Samplemoog and SonicSynth content for long term owners?! :x They still sell them for 60$ each... :dog:
