Im trying to create a patch, but why does the sound always sounds different even pressing the same key (c3) at the same velocity, do I have to turn off something or why does this happen pls help

hello,

i would suspect that the differing timbres you keep hearing is only the result of diva's so called analogueness (there are slight detune, filtering, etc. differences at each key press, even at the same velocity).

i have the old vsti you have on the screen grab, so if you put up here or send me the patch of that instrument, i would give it a try (already saved the grabbed image, but to have both instruments for sound testing would be loads more easy) with diva.

exactly nadir thats what I hear detune filter but that analogueness cant change?

the name of the patch is "low" without the delay effects of course, this vst was my favorite but I lost my cds and its discontinued thats why I'm trying to recreate it on diva

hello,

if you give me some time, i could make the sound you want (say, in half a day, if not really urgent), if you want to do it by yourself, zero out every knob (except the led colour) on the trimmers panel, then try the sound again.

I think phase correlations are the major 'culprit' here. When phase is close between oscillators the overall signal peaks higher, changing the very subtle distortions that result in the rest of the signal path. Starting from the default patch, phase can be locked with sync or using the DCO/digital oscillator models and individual notes are much more consistent.

I dont have the serial either this was a long time ago

Im using a demo but it stops every 15 minutes.

Yeah, this sounds like phase stuff. What oscillator module is being used? If it's the Triple VCO there are two 'sync' rocker switches (or if the dual VCO there's a 'sync' button). Engaging these will cause all 3 (or 2) oscillators to lock phase*, and the artifact you hear should disappear. If this isn't happening, could you post the patch?

DIVA's 'analog' is not as simple as 'random', but may appear random at times

* - It's trickier than that, the manual should have an explanation of what's happening.

Controls to explore on the Trimmers page:

Transient Mode - set to Osc Reset (3 reset phase knobs control phase relationship of the 3 (or 2) Osc's)
Detune Amt and Voice Drift to 0
Variance Cutoff, Env, PW set to 0
