Hi JV,
A few words on Backup:
The new receptor backup tools are 'incremental-backups' (based on rsync, in unix terminology). This means that the backup is relatively smart, and will only try to detect/write file differences.
This means that once you have done a full backup onto your external drive, subsequent backups should be much faster.
I don't exactly backup my disk as much as I should, but it's probably a good idea to create one complete backup ASAP, and maybe after every few months, do an incremental backup. I guess the correct answer really depends on how much you change files on your Receptor.
