Thought it through, but I should realize that the medium and audience might twist it... Not surprised. I wish you the best again, and whatever decision you make will be the right one. Thank you for making me regret showing an ounce of empathy for your situation and attempting a touch of humor. Medium and audience noted, analogy was just fine though.
Edit - not worth it, as one failed attempt at humor met with another should null and be done with and noting BBFG#'s post below. Also, here is a link to your IK User Area to get the sound library update (under Related Downloads for SampleTank 3): http://www.ikmultimedia.com/userarea and SampleTank 3 itself for those still following this thread and actually interested in the product itself: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/sampletank3

You should really contemplate your analogies all the way through Peter.
And I did laugh at your attempt in humor...

Eh, I guess if it keeps the conversation moving though I don't have specific news about the testing of the demo fix so I have no idea whether we will meet your timeframe. Will keep you posted on that front.

Peter,
Does the update download (ST3 and sound files) have an expiration date as well?
With the problems reported I'm not sure I want to do the update at this time since ST3 is working for my needs so far.
Happy Musiking!

It is a Related Download so it does not require reactivation.dsan@mail.com wrote:Peter,

I appreciate that they at least "tried" to address some of the worst offenders. Let's hope there are more efforts toward that end.Bombadil wrote:And the solo pop voices still haunt me, even after the sound update.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:I do understand your point and frustration, though, just to be clear. Thank you for the reply; however, reactivation is not the question.
Do the links to the sounds update expire?

dsan - That's really the same question, sorry if my answer wasn't clear. They don't expire, thus they do not require reactivation.

Since last night I am unable to download anything from my user area. No update, no sounds.....nothing. All I get is download time "unknown" or it starts to download at 3kb/s saying it will take 8 days to download a 48mb file, then it stops altogether. I've tried two different computers with different browsers and configurations...same thing.
Edit: This is Sampletank related. Miraslav and Amplitude download at good speed as always, just not Sampletank updates, sounds etc.
Any ideas Peter?

As much as I have felt 'nickeled and dimed' by IKM over this upgrade.. and sometimes the IKM threads can feel like a hard sell - but at the end of the day... it's actually turning out to be worth the cost and effort for me. Having adjusted latency settings, I have found things to work well in Logic X, and have gained back the use of my Miroslav and SampleMoog libs. There are several usable sounds in the library also (as there should be - with all the hard drive space ST3 is taking up). I'm even finding the standalone player to be useful for quick scratch play. There's still quite a bit of room for improving the thing (especially, for me - allowing the keyswitch trigger keys to be edited) -- but overall.. worth the cost. 1 1/2 thumbs up.

Have you tried again? I don't see issues here but that doesn't mean there isn't/wasn't an issue or if there is something happening on one of the hops you are taking vs me.music247 wrote:Since last night I am unable to download anything from my user area. With regard to the sound update, note that on Friday we updated the Sounds Updater with shorter file names for Windows throughout and also removed the second ZIP. So now when you unzip the installer, you just get the Mac .dmg file and the Windows .exe file straightaway. Hopefully that will help most of the reported sound update issues.

You shouldn't regret trying to help someone, even if it was not appreciated. It is all you can do, and most other people are aware of that.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Thought it through, but I should realize that the medium and audience might twist it... Not surprised. You should regret sulking in public when you work in customer or community management, because it comes across as unprofessional. Kitchen and heat.
