Is there a way to sequence control values within mux?

Ie a step sequencer

You can use a Multi-Point Envelope routed to a MIDI Controller Generator.

Or using a Sequence Player module that sequences MIDI controller events.

I'm guessing I'd need to trigger the envelope with a note on message?

If the Multi-Point Envelope is not connected to an event source it will start playing automatically, else it indeed needs a note trigger.
The sequence player needs note triggers.
