Why can't I have congas and cowbells at the same time? The selection of percussion kits is strange to me. I'm talking about generating percussion rhythms just as I would a funk or pop rhythm. I go to the rhythm generator and select a percussion base rhythm. The problem is, I have no idea how to choose the correct percussion kit. I can't seem to get the congas to play with the woodblocks or the cowbells to play with the bongas. Sometimes the base rhythm is completely silent, I presume because I have the wrong kit loaded up. Can I have all the percussion instruments available at the same time?

Still trying to figure this out. I'm in the Rhythm Editor. I go to Import/Export. I select Load Track To All Loops, or Load Track To All Loops Of Current Type. They both say this can be used to add percussion. So the drum selector window pops up, I select Conga Hi. It indeed inserts a Conga track in all the loops, and there is something there. I can see it, but I hear nothing. If I add shakers, I can hear them, but why can't I hear bongos, timbales, congas. or anything else besides shakers? Is this something I'm doing wrong?

I'm not sure if your problem is in rhythms or drumset, but it's really simple:

First drumset:
1. Load some percussion drumset.
2. Load & join some cowbells and stuff, and even some other percussion...

Now the rhythm:
A: Load some percussion rhythm and merge some bells from background percussion if needed.

B: Use rhythm generator with some "World" base rhythm.

C: Ideally: use rhythm 1 for percussion and rhythm 2 for bells.

Think of the Rhythm (and all it's sub parts like loops, tracks, loopboxes, levels..all the parameters) as separate from the actual drum sounds.
Vojtech explained this somewhere as thinking of the Rhythm as a drum chart..the drummer comes to the studio, looks at the chart, can see the notes to play, and can see what drums he needs to get from the van.
As the composer, you can load a conga track to your Rhythm but the drummer might then have to get the actual conga from the van (load the conga in Drumset editor).
Sometimes when you load a track you will hear it because that drum is already loaded, but sometimes you won't hear it because it's not actually loaded.
And of course, to load a new drum in Drumset editor, it's not enough just to add the drum in the Drum list on the left, you then have to load the actual sample you want over on the right (Layer source/ file directory). And you have to dig around for some of the sounds...you'll find various percussion sounds in all of the Layer source categories.
If you wanted all the percussion sounds loaded and available, you could actually painstakingly do this in Drumset editor then save as, but realistically, the way to go would be to first decide what drums you actually want for now, add them to the list, choose your samples, then save as for later loading. Now work on your Rhythm (making sure your drum tracks relate to your drum list in Drum editor), you'll hear the drumset you've just saved or loaded.
