@Sampleconstruct Your enthusiasm is contagious dude, not just for Serum but for simply being in a good mood. :D Keep these coming.

Cheers, once a synth grabs me I just can't stop patching, all the other sound work just has to wait for a day

I wonder how much CPU power is used for display rendering. Maybe a button to freeze display rendering would help?

I don't think it would make much, if any difference. The 3D view in particular is actually displaying a stack of cached images for each of the 256 slices, which are generated only once when the WT is created. It's essentially the same way a knob animation works. The 2D is a little more involved of course, but switching to a static page like Global will stop the CPU rendering something that isn't visible. Either that or just hide the GUI entirely in your DAW.

Been working with it and I'm impressed how great the pads sound.

Really nice synth, great job guys!

Oh man, your making presets for Serum.
OK, I am going to have to buy it now.

Please post some of your patches when you can.
I would love to hear those.

I know that feel bro.

OK if Simon and Sami are on board you just know good sound banks are not far behind, I guess that's as good a reason to buy this as any.

A little nap in the afternoon and then these dark sounds happen - made from an imported cello wave (this time I got the orphing right by deleting unwanted waves and then having space to let Serum do the morphing), sul ponticello style, mixed with handdrawn waves in Osc 2 tuned up 2 octave/s+7semitones, ring modulating Osc1, Osc 2 can be tuned to +2 octaves with a Macro which happens somewhere in the middle of the track. Modwheel for vibrato, Macros 2 for cutoff, who f+++ing cares anyway :)

:D - cheers, maybe after my next MachFive library is ready, or maybe even in parallel, we'll see soon, but it's bound to happen.

You asked for it, One of the things I like about Serum is its ability to to do big pads and sound Orchestral.
Since I am working with a number of film makers, I decided to make some Orchestral sounding pads.

Here is one example:

Superb guys, these are sounding quite marvelous!

Here is another, a hybrid hardware Orchestral patch:

Here's a couple of ambient patches I was working on during the beta. I'll be releasing a complete ambient pack which hopefully should be up on the Xfer website in the near future.

No post-processing was added as to demonstrate Serum's beauty out of the box.

First patch includes a Noise recording of my kitchen boiler's clock. Second patch is a wavetable created with a recording of my bathroom tap.
