I was going to email you about it, this one is definitely for you!S1gnsOfL1fe wrote:Just catching up with this thread...
Day one Serum owner. Design workflow is super intuitive and the sound is undeniably powerful.
Congrats to bitcrusher and the team on a job well done! Looking forward to using this on many more tracks in the future.
Cheers,

Don't want to feel left out of this party so here's something I did! lol
Just one pad, with some huge closing door sound which is part of it, and sylenth is doing the muffled detuned bass.

I haven't bought yet - but will be purchasing this coming weekend.
The one thing that I would love to see that is lacking is the Performer modulation feature in Massive. I realize that one can accomplish things through multi-point envelopes, but the Performer mode in Massive really assists in creating tempo synched modulations by selecting a curve and placing that curve within a tempo grid. It's invaluable to me.
These type of things can be accomplished through automation within the DAW, but that's laborious/tedious. Additionally, if a given plugin does any time of smoothing of the automation envelopes during processing, the results can be not what was desired sonically.
Anyway, just throwing my 2 cents in. From what I've heard so far on YT and read in the manual, I already know Serum is going to play heavily in my future tracks.
Much thanks to the team for putting out a spectacular synth.

And now also with the Virus... So both again:
I imported a saw waveform from my Nord Lead 2x!
It's the arp in this snippet (another Serum instance plays a pluck sound based on a built-in waveform).
Serum Nord Lead 2x
... and the same but with a waveform from my Virus XL:

They are polyphonic, if you have the default setting: "Off", then they are syncing to the tempo+position of your song, which is of course the same for each note. Click "Trig" if you want the LFO to re-trigger with your note start.elnn wrote:hmm, started up the demo and the first thing I noticed was that LFOs aren't polyphonic – or am I missing something?

So no polyphonic retrigger?
EDIT: scratch that, it works. It didn't though with a patch I made, alas the 20 min restriction.

I LOVE the timbre of the first five seconds (the rest is great, too, but the first five seconds, man..) – is it a wavetable from the said clock?Skyre wrote:Here's a couple of ambient patches I was working on during the beta. I'll be releasing a complete ambient pack which hopefully should be up on the Xfer website in the near future.
No post-processing was added as to demonstrate Serum's beauty out of the box.
First patch includes a Noise recording of my kitchen boiler's clock. Second patch is a wavetable created with a recording of my bathroom tap.

Here you go, found a bug (:bitcrusher wrote:hmm, it could have been the destination (FX are "monophonic" as it is a master FX bus, but they still allow mod destinations, obviously most useful for monophonic patches).
LFO 1 BPM sync- > on anything
LFO 2 BPM sync+ > LFO 1 rate
On the second note, LFO 2 stops modulating LFO 1 for the first sound (regardless of Trig setting)
edit: sorry for posting it here, it's just I made the first post and didn't close the tab. I can resubmit it to your website
Brzzzzzzt.

While everybody is posting sounds I have 42 hours invested in a trance song right now using that bass sound I build from scratch as the sound the rest of the song is worked around. I am also using the Big Bells preset and made my own pads. I'ts now almost 7 minutes long and I am so incredibly happy I getting this track finished and it's just good. You know, I never get my stuff finished like ever but now I am getting there and that feels amazing. Like raising my own bars. Not something that has anything to do with Serum other than the musical inspiration that came with it and hit me like a tsunami hitting a elephant at the beach that is wondering about that effect on the horizon.
I had to rename the song thought, now that I added some harmonics and the whole thing also became melodic I can't call it SuperBbBadonkadonk anymore with a picture of Nickj Minaj as a fish (real bass)
So it's called "Blood is Holy" now and I hope you guys are going to love it! It uses 4 instances of Serum and then some FX that I had to bounce to audio because my CPU can't handle it. (whole song does 70% cpu with spike to 90% on my laptop).
Can't wait until I can post it here. Still about 10 hours from finished if I really want to polish it to the max and be super proud on myself.
