The only way I can see it being fixed properly is implementing a "hide greater-than-stereo upmixing inserts" preference. Because sometimes you *do* want all the options, sometimes you don't need anything more than mono/stereo/mono-to-stereo.. Maybe the menu itself is a ten-minute fix, maybe not - but logging, fixing, testing, qualifying...
