"Saturday's Child" from Brendan Perry's (Dead Can Dance) first solo album, "Eye of the Hunter". He really does have a great voice and a little oversinging never hurt no one.

Stranglers are great... :)
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

And in the same vein, Beck's "The Golden Age" from "Sea Change".

Soundtrack to waking up at dawn in the Virginia mountains to drive back home after watching my mother die the day before.

@Robmobius: True, and also are an Original band...

Another Capolavoro..!

Marillion - Gaza

I was going to post Roundabout by Yes but that's been had... So we'll go with something a little later "Owner of a Lonely Heart"

And for classic, you don't get much more classic than...

(although "Gate Of Babylon" is what got me utterly hooked on the album)

Some already post Floyd - One of these days but a few others that pinch my memory

AC/DC - Hells Bells

I remember when Bon Scott died.

It was amazing to hear AC/DC coming out with this Album.

I'm amazed no one has mentioned some of these openings yet...

"The Hellion/Electric Eye" - Judas Priest
Album: Screaming for Vengeance

"Spirit of Radio" - RUSH
Album: Permanent Waves

"One More Time" - Daft Punk
Album: Discovery

"Human After All" - Daft Punk
Album: Human After All

People will rage for me mentioning this one, but it sets the tone of the album.
"Papercut" - Linkin Park
Album: Hybrid Theory

And just for fun:
"Blue" - Eiffel 65
Album: Europop

Check out the whole of their first album, not a bad track on it. They were great live too.

Judas Priest! The Hellion... I LOVED that track when I was 13.
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.
