Great one, that, I remember being floored the first time I heard it with those hocketing horns and mangy bass, it felt quite unlike his Cream work.

Another one of me all time faves!

Brian Eno - Sky Saw from Another Green World

Rush - Tom Sawyer from Moving Pictures

Claude Debussy - Piano Etude No. 1 "Pour Les Cinq Doigts" OK, not an album per se, but Claude really jacked up the standards for the expressive possibilities of instrumental etudes. Etude #1 comes out swinging, and the other 11 Etudes take it to another level entirely.

First off, I'm sorry for your loss. I had a similar experience listening to that album. Don't know what it is, but it seems almost tied to death.

And now I show that I spent my formative years in the 90s:

Guys passed way too early.

Should have been a much more popular band.

I wish I wrote this riff.

Let's play faster.

The guitar riff even says "f**k you too."

First track on their first album. Great statement of intent, arguably never bettered.

"The Hellion/Electric Eye" - Judas Priest
Album: Screaming for Vengeance

And just for fun:
"Blue" - Eiffel 65
Album: Europop
Wow, you don't often see them mentioned together in the same post :o

Judas Priest is excellent, and while on the subject of metal, this is one fine atmospheric opener
