I love stuff like this.

To me, this is the Massive 2 that NI failed to deliver in K10. I like the sample based noise osc. I want to make simple Rompler patches from other synths and then use Serum to filter/modulate them. Is there any way to time stretch the samples in addition to pitch shifting them (for the purposes of playing chords with samples)?

You are amazing Patch. I love your Omnispehere and Lush sets. I hope you will do a bank for this synth that captures that flater, mellow backing tone pads sound that you can hear on the Wham albums "Edge of heaven" and "Make it Big". This is the synth, and you are the guy, to capture that sound! It would be a really functional and usable sound set too, as opposed to so many show-off sound sets that really are not useful for songs. Do it please!PatchAdamz wrote:I got my first tune completed with both Serum and "Concentrated" for Serum presets.

I will fix this in Audio-Term v2.26 and set the second '1' to '0'. Thanks for the hint!bitcrusher wrote:Really cool!! I'm very thrilled by the Audio-Term support!blacktomcat666 wrote:Here are some wavetables made with Audio-Term, including some PPG/Waldorf - like stuff.

These files have the correct wavetable header, you can put them directly into the wavetable folder.![]()
However just a heads-up (no pun intended?) in the header:the second '1' implies a factory table, which means the table data will not save inside presets/songs. Thus if sharing a preset/song with another user, the other user will also need that same wavetable located in the same /Tables/ subfolder location.Code: Select all

I'm not sure it's a problem per-se, but more to make you aware. User-saved tables inside Serum aren't tagged as such, to avoid "table missing" messages re-opening songs after re-install, collborating on songs with others, and the like.
Cheers!
Steve

Two basic questions that have not been answered on the homepage:
- Is the demo time limited (i.e., will it eventually expire and stop to work after, say, a month)?
- What is the registration method?
This info should be on the web page, clearly visible.
But I'll be happy if someone answers here. Sorry, I don't have time to wade through 40+ pages.

as per the serum page, next to the download:- Is the demo time limited (i.e., will it eventually expire and stop to work)
- what is the registration method?
Code: Select all
This demo allows you to use Serum at its full potential, however it is restricted to 20 minutes of use per operation, and save features are disabled.re: Registration - it is automatic when you purchase. The copy-protection (if that is what you mean?) is a simple serial number.
Warm Regards,
Steve

Creating a wavetable from an imported nylon guitar pluck with some rattling strings, then all these things happen inside Serum, this synth absolutely rocks!

An excellent add-on for Serum, more atmospheric and tons of warmer pads.
Serum comes with mostly dance oriented presets, these were MUCH more to my personal taste and musicality.
Nice job Patch.

how many modulators can there be per target in Serum?
In Massive u can have 3 modulators per taget.
Example: u can have lfo, env and performer modulating filter cutoff in the same time!
thanx for the info
cheers!

Thanks, Steve! Both things were not immediately obvious, hence the questions; all is clear now.bitcrusher wrote:as per the serum page, next to the download:- Is the demo time limited (i.e., will it eventually expire and stop to work)

Another thing: with some patches, or the about screen, I'm getting high processor usage because of the GUI animations (like, close to full 1 core, out of 2). Yes, I'm demoing on an older laptop* with a less than pro-grade graphics card. Maybe you could give me a hint why such load is happening - is it an OpenGL issue or something else (that could be solved), or it's just because my card is too poor on specs in order to process all the fancy graphics (case closed)?
If Serum is generally demanding on the graphics card, maybe this should be specified on the product page as well. Just saying.
*Dell Latitude E5500, factory graphics card, and I'm not getting issues with many other apps that have busy GUIs/animations, just with some/several.

As many as you want, but no more than 16, as that is the maximum amount of slots in the mod matrix.Buka wrote:how many modulators can there be per target in Serum?

Which patches seem to be an issue? I have yet to get CPU above about 16% on my iMac, but happy to check out the bad culprits....

Just open the About box (it's animated). Do you get 1 full core used-up when the GUI is open and close to zero when closed? No? I do!jc_vt wrote:Which patches seem to be an issue? I have yet to get CPU above about 16% on my iMac, but happy to check out the bad culprits....
I.e., it's not specific patches or the audio side of things that causes this, it's the animations: how they are coded - new and sophisticated code, too taxing for old and user-grade graphics cards - that is causing the issue for me and my old laptop (running Windows 7 x86). There would be no point to check how things are on a modern iMac - a different universe.
But thanks for the offer, pal!
