I'm trying to do a punch-in on a clip. I've got the IN and OUT set and it records the new part fine, but it's still keeping the old part that I am trying to punch-in over. Um...

I dont know if this works with punch-ins but try clicking on the recording device on the left panel, then choose "recording mode", and pick "replace old clips in edit with new ones". That should allow it to record over clips.

Just came across this thread. So apparently yeah, I need to select to record over old clips, but there is still some problem with how it does that. Thanks for the info, though.
