This decision came about after trying the Etch Red filter on a whim when I was in no position to give it a good evaluation. Now that I am interested in seeing what the device can do (my interest in effects has changed) I dont have the chance to give it a good spin.Interesting rule. How do you know if you're likely to buy them without trying them out first?
As for "how would I know"... its desire-based. For example Im not likely to try one of the CV utilities when I dont know what CV is all about. And while some of the top dollar synths may be great, i'm not getting the urge because there's other things on the wishlist that take priority in my studio.
The softube amps may well be awesome but im sure the Eleven rack offers more tones. Its not a drawcard for buying v8 because for me, not only do I view the release as poor value, but for me it actually sounds counter productive! As I mentioned previously, even if it was a free upgrade I would still be inclined to stick with v7.
For those wondering if the softube amps are a limited offer... that has not been mentioned, and Reason will need to have options for guitarists.... so the only way they will disappear is if the business arrangement changes... I would like to think that Props legal counsel looked at the contract properly after the Line6 debacle
