Bazille spring reverb IRs - 32bit/96k

I'm working on an utility pack of quality IR samples and I just finished sampling the Bazille spring reverb.
Bazille doesn't have audio inputs but that didn't stop me from getting the IRs

3 tension settings, 5 decay lengths, bright and stereo wide.
Also included a couple of "shake" ones just for flavor diversity and fun.

Tip: Although I kept the processing of the samples to a minimum to preserve authenticity, a bit of a HP filter on the wet signal would be rather useful. (I did process the "shake" IRs a tiny bit = about -12 db low-shelf from 100 Hz downwards to prevent it getting to boomy)

I'm confused. Is it a sample, or an effect? Is that not two different things? Please elaborate.

^ It's an "impulse/response" sample but you can load it into a convolution processor (like a convolution reverb such as Liquid Sonics Reverberate, Waves IR1, SIR, NI Reflektor etc) and make it into an effect.

Interesting. I tried finding a free convolution processor that would work with Mac OSX 10.6.8 and CubaseLE4, with no luck. I do like the spring reverb on Bazille.

If you want to download the free trial for Reaper DAW, Reaper includes the ReaVerb (Cockos) effect plug in. It can be a convolution reverb.
Load a VST instrument on a new track, Click on the FX button for the track to add an effect, click in 'Cockos', select ReaVerb (Cockos).
To use an Impulse Response sample: In the ReaVerb (Cockos) dialog window, Click in the 'Add' button and select 'File'. You will be prompted to browse for the IR file you want to use. Ready to rock!

I have been intrigued by Reaper for several years, but I have yet to try it. It took me a year or two to get half way decent with CubaseLE4 (I had used a couple of different hard disc recorders earlier). Cubase is the only computer based DAW I have used as of yet. I tried Cubase 7 trial version (a few of my synth plug-ins did not work at all or very poorly), but that did not go well for me, so I reverted back to LE4. It seems some people easily jump from DAW to DAW without too much trouble, though for me it seems like a huge investment in time. I must have spent 100 hours tinkering with Cubase 7 (and OSX changes and interface problems) before I gave up on it. I have used Cubase LE4 for about 5 years, and I'm still learning new things with it recently (I think both instruction manuals add up to about 400 pages if I remember correctly). Melodyne has been an important part of my recording process for about a year, and the last time I researched it, Reaper does not work right with Mac and Melodyne; though maybe that has changed. I certainly appreciate your reply. Perhaps some day I'll try Reaper.
