MPowerSynth beta has been updated to 8.05b2 with many new features!

Install simply using the newest installer from MPowerSynth page.

You can still get it for FREE.

Check the list of changes.

One question: does the FX matrix has an internal latency compensation? I.e. if I use two outputs and the signal runs through different effects on each side which have different latencies, will that result in some comb filter sound because on path is delayed against the other?

No it does not. It woulbe very complicated considering what schemes you can create, and that's partly why there are almost no effects with latency

OOps I think I just ran into such a scenario because I got some strange overall sound. Do all effects that have latency display it on the title bar of the respective effect (I think I have seen this with the Vibrato effect)?

Does using the modular box (possibly nested multiple times) introduce latency?

If the latency is stated in the title bar I could use MUtility to even out the latency in all my paths.

If the processor has latency, it will display it. I'm not sure about Modular though, this one probably not. In this case you need to "sum all processor in series".

No, just latency is a problem... After all, it's a synth, it should have minimum latency!

- any reason why folders are sorted but not the presets themselves?

- Wow, the LFOs are getting even more powerful! Awesome! I've I may wish something, I wish a sync option as well for the random tab

BTW the popup windows of MPS are on top of everything else on my windows. If a synth popup is open (e.g. modulator editor) and I switch to another application within windows, the popup stays on top. This was once a problem when MPS/Cubase crashed and the popup still remained where all the closing dialogs for applications and also system reboot appeared. I couldn't do anything because the popup remained on top.

1) Names shouldn't be sorted - you are not looking for anything specific and if it would be sorted, it would be actually harder to use. Not mentioning that when you'd add a preset, you'd have harder job to find it.

2) Sync for random tab

3) Popups - well, it cannot be done any other way, because some hosts would cover the popups otherwise.

OK, then the possibility of manual reordering the presets would be cool, like up and down arrows with which you can push presets through the list.

Any chance the freeform equalizer gets added to the FX matrix? One could do freaky stuff with it

Two issues:

1) Waaaaaaahhhhhhhhh Arpeggiator settings are not backwards compatible!

It seems the sync setting is not stored by name but by index. If I open a preset which had 1/8 sync before (2nd option in list before) it has now 1/4T sync (2nd option in new list). That's bad

2) When browsing through presets with the left/right buttons, it jumps between the folders in their original unsorted order. That's confusing.

Freeform eq - no sorry, it has latency, not really good for this.

Arp settings - damn, I'll check!
