No mystery there.
Anyone use Wusik synths?

Theres been updates to 4000 since the groupbuy time. Lots of fixes / features since then, follow your purchase link, make sure you click the link, even if it says its an old, or your current, version. Make sure you are looking at file names with extensions, not just a link to the folder, as the folder name seems to usually report an older version than is current.

Thanks, Rob. I didn't get that in my download, and since there was no manual for v6 (William suggested I use the manual for v5), I didn't want to bother him again for what I thought would get me the same answer.Examigan wrote:You mean this manual?planetearth wrote:I'm with you, Jace-BeOS. I got v6, which had a "final" update as a beta version--and no user manual. When that wouldn't work properly, William gave me the latest version of v7...which hasn't been stable at all in Windows 7, (even though it's supposed to be a 64-bit plug-in). It crashes every time I use it, usually taking Sonar with it. Re-installing doesn't help.
I've never found the sounds to be anything outstanding, and some of them (such as the loops) are not intuitive at all. Since there's no user manual, I'm stuck trying to figure out how to make it work.

I'll see if the problems I'm having with the drum sounds and loops are explained in here. Thanks again.

May check it out once 8000 (alpha?) is officially released.
But anyone considering to be a new user, I strongly suggest you wait until then.

I suggest they try the WS demo and if it functions fine on their system don't let you talk them out of owning a great synth for a great price..........BBFG# wrote: But anyone considering to be a new user, I strongly suggest you wait until then.

AFAIK, WilliamK got sole "ownership" (so to speak) going forward several years ago.Jace-BeOS wrote:i didn't know. Thanks for the note.jsp1979 wrote:Eve was a joint effort between WilliamK and Dash Signature. Kind of like Albino 3 with Papen and Linplug.
No mystery there.Which of them officially maintains it?

I liked Wusik Station.
It had problems that seemed not insurmountable to me but it's effectively a dead synth for the price, because the developer decided to let it die, but continues to sell the corpse.
Wait for 8000.

Funny I just spent a couple of very enjoyable hours playing that "dead synth" today and came up with some more wonderful soundscapes and textures. Not one glitch, not one bug, not one crash.BBFG# wrote:I liked Wusik Station.

Don't let BBFG's personal problems talk you out of at least trying the WS demo.

I don't have a problem. Just stating it's illogical to buy the old synth when the new one claims it replaces it with even better features and functionality.Teksonik wrote:Don't let BBFG's personal problems talk you out of at least trying the WS demo.BBFG# wrote:I liked Wusik Station.

That simply makes it foolish to buy it instead of seeing if the new one meets that claim.

Wusikstation from version 1 through 7 evolved into a very powerful and full featured instrument.
The way I see it, with Wusik 4000/8000 William is starting over but with a modular framework. So yes, expect growing pains. But it should also develop much quicker than Wusikstation....
Wusikstation at V6 and/or V7 is far from a "dead" instrument. There is a lot that can be done with it.

With W7 it went 64 bit, so that should make it future proof at least for a couple of years

It's dead to Mac users. And no longer supported. Officially sold as-is.
All I'm saying is there is one current software and one future software.
The 'future' one is suppose to do what V7 does and more.
Better to wait for that.
