So what did happen to the Diva sequencer? I remember seeing preliminary screenshots...

Deferred until u-he refines the idea and UX.

Its developer, Clemens, left the company and the new developer (as well as myself) has become side tracked with other projects. Now that the voice management had a complete overhaul, we could revisit the ideas. Might be a good project for my spring holiday...enossified wrote:So what did happen to the Diva sequencer? Hope seriously for some ARP 2600 or Odyssey and Elka Synthex based modules!Urs wrote:Most likely next year, if we do more Diva modules. But I'm sure we will.patcub wrote:wow more filters?![]()
I just bought Diva a few days ago after buying the two Luftrum banks and playing them
with the 1.3 demo version.
Just fell in love with it and finally (after always delaying) decided that I can't anymore do without Diva for my tracks.
Some typical Vangelis' CS-80 sounds are already very very well emulated.
We are the true makers of our destiny.

In Bazille I would like to have one or more internal mod sources for retriggering the oscillators and LFOs
(like the envelope triggers) available: e.g. CV to oscillator phase reset..
But you might have considered this feature already and maybe it's a bit against Baz's paradigms..
or is technically impossible.. or..

A few ideas for Zebra 3:
-unipolar/bipolar lfo switch
-lfos with hertz display mode
-filter cutoff frequency display in hertz
-option to assign arp/seq to only certain oscillators
-random mode in arp/seq
-reverse delay
-display partial numbers in oscillator editor
-option to maximize/full screen oscillator editor window

Just one feature that I would love to see in future Zebra - the ability to take the output of a module and use it as an input or modulation source for modules earlier in the chain (as is possible in ACE and Bazille).
If this is not feasible, you could make me just as happy by including something like Zebra's comb filter module in future versions of ACE or Bazille, or whatever the next freely patchable modular monster will be...
I don't know of any modular vsti (unless you count Reaktor) which includes comb filters and allows non-linear signal flow, and I would love to see U-he be the first to create one

VAZ Modular has a comb filter and allows feedback too.

A cool feature in Bazille would be the ability to mute a cable. You could right-click (or shift-click) on either end of the cable and a mute option would be there. It could turn the cable grey and make it behave as though it weren't there. Obviously, you'd have to prevent any other cables from being plugged into the input end of the cable while muted or that could cause a huge mess. If there are multiple cables on an output, this might be problematic so maybe the option wouldn't appear in this case.

That seems too confusing to me...Erkenfresh wrote:A cool feature in Bazille would be the ability to mute a cable. Hi!
I'm new to this forum and I am about to open in the worst kind of way.
By COMPLAINING !
Is this really true? Are all suggestions of improvements for U-he products clumped together under the same thread?
Over a hundred pages long?
Aaarrrrgh!
How about at least separating the threads to each specific Synth?
Well,
Chances are somebody's already made this suggestion for DIVA in one of those more than a hundred pages, but, in that case - hey! - the more the merrier! So here goes :
AWRIGHT. COMPLAINING DONE. NOW TO THE MATTER AT HAND.
Just as Zebra HZ was a great way of letting Zebra get a little taste of what DIVA does best. (Those Filters. Mmmm. ) I think DIVA could benefit enormously from one of the things that Zebra does very well, namely Envelopes. An extra (Third) Zebrastyle Envelope with adjustable curves and the ability to alter Attack and/or Decay-times with Velocity and Keytracking would be a small addition to the screen real estate but it would open up a whole new world of possible sounds!
Adressing the extra envelope to Osc 2 Pitch would for instance mean that the "Perfect Independent Brass Bounce Issue" would be solved, once and for all. And just think of what you could do with Pulse-Width Modulation if it didn't have to share movement with the Amp or Filter Envelope…
Mmmmmmm... Good Stuff... Wouldn't you agree Urs?
/Emilio
P.S. Actually, I don't think it would hurt the two "ordinary" envelopes to be given adjustable curves and the ability to be modulated by Velocity/Keytracking (as an option) too…

Hehehe, sorry it's all crammed into one place.
Thing is, so much is shared among all our plug-ins, by "Improvements" we meant general features, not necessarily features specific to one plug-in. Since this thread came about we've added UI resize, better installers, more (and less) plug-in formats, generally more comprehensive usability and control. There's a lot going on. I reckon that 90% of enhancements and work go into our global framework that's the foundation of all plug-ins.
We usually also have threads for single products, but we don't keep them sticky forever.
Of course we have hundreds, if not thousands of feature requests for each product. They're buried somewhere in this forum, in our mailboxes and elsewhere. We can't possibly keep up with them, but as we constantly work on new stuff, we have developed a feel for what people would like to see. But also, as was noted in another thread, new stuff takes much longer to develop than it used to. The world of plug-ins has come a long way, and it's become a slightly more difficult environment with a lot more responsibility on my shoulder.
So yes, feature requests are most welcomed! We just need to put a lot of thought into things. A third envelope for Diva is one of these things, which every now and then during a sleepless night I wreck my brain about.
(and we might one day unstick this thread... and maybe start a new one with all those topics that are on our mind)
Cheers,
- Urs

Is it hopeless to ask for new features for Zebra 2 given that you are going to start working on Zebra 3?
The one feature I find myself missing from Zebra 2 is the ability to tune the oscillators to something other that semitones. I would LOVE for there to be an option to tune the oscillators in harmonics as you can in Ace, Bazille and Diva. That is the one feature lacking that makes me prefer working in other synths for (some) FM sounds. Would that be an easy addition to add to Zebra or would it require a major overhaul on the oscillator section?
