Hi Tom, do you have an idea if it is planned to be able to record into arrange view one track at a time in the future? I guess not in 1.1 as i have not read anything about it, but maybe in a future version?
As it is now, recording in arrange view is pretty much useless to me unfortunately.

Yeah, this was a users comment if I remember correctly on some of the changes, one of them is new options for the stretching.ronnyrydgren wrote:Ive read about improved soundquality? how can it be improved? xD Is my ears wrong cause i think current version sounds awesome allready xD Does it haveanything to do with the morphing, streching of the sound? Cause ive heard that abletone had better sound there or algorythm. Would be nice to know
Read further back in the thread, it was already discussed.
As you say: Nothing wrong with how Bitwig Studio sounds
Cheers,
Tom

I fear not. I tried to convince the devs of it but they keep explaining to me that it is how it should be.Redukt wrote:Hi Tom, do you have an idea if it is planned to be able to record into arrange view one track at a time in the future? Hi Tom,
I have 1 more question: do you know if in the new update we will be availble to zoom or reduce the tracks on the vertical way into the arranger window? and if it will possible to add an auto zoom on an individual track like in Logic?
Thanks

Could some nice soul tell me more about the advanced audio/midi routing (I saw someone mentioning a routing section?). Because if Bitwig will provide me with a nonlinear session view and Reaper calibre routing options, then I think I might have found DAW heaven!
Also, has there been any talk about user configurable hotkeys and other UI stuff? (like prehaps configure what that mouse wheel scroll always zoom horizontal, wheel scroll+ control always zooms vertical and mouse wheel click pans along both axles).
Oh and one last thing! can we have mouse wheel scroll change the knob/fader it is hovering over?
//Spoiled reaper snob who desperately wants a session view.

Looks like they've just opened up more 1.1 beta spots -- I got an email this morning giving me access to "Beta 4", one of a series of betas they're running before releasing 1.1 publicly. Seems they're on track.

I don't remember if this was asked before..
when solo a track with a send amount to an effect track (a reverb for example)...you can ear also the audio signal of other tracks that are sending audio to the same effect track. Is this fixed in 1.1? It's super-ultra-mega annoying.-.

I don't understand. I think I recorded my voice to one track (in a busy 32 track project). Do you mean this is not possible? Maybe I used the clip recording I dont remember for sure but I really can't believe it's not possible..ThomasHelzle wrote:I fear not. Can you explain what is "supposed to be"?

When you have for instance a drum clip running in the clip launcher and record a bass line on another track to the arranger, you can't prevent Bitwig from recording that drum clip to the arranger too, even if that track isn't armed.
Even worse: if you have anything else on that arranger track with the running drum clip, it will be overwritten and you can't do anything to prevent that.
I often do mixed projects where I have several clips running in clip launcher and then record stuff in the arranger playing to it.
And I don't see a single reason why something should be recorded from tracks that aren't armed.
I would at least want to have a way to turn this behaviour off.
To me it's the most annoying function in Bitwig Studio actually.
Cheers,
Tom

yeah i agree 100%. There is no reason to have such a behaviorThomasHelzle wrote:When you have for instance a drum clip running in the clip launcher and record a bass line on another track to the arranger, you can't prevent Bitwig from recording that drum clip to the arranger too, even if that track isn't armed.

Already in 1.1beta 4, but there was a little bug that we just fixed in beta 5.

someone has an answer also on this please?shadiradio wrote:I'm wondering this too. I like to create lanes in other DAWs where multiple MIDI clips/tracks play to a single device. For example, having two tracks for left hand and right hand separation of piano parts. There's no real way to do this in Bitwig at the moment, and I'm hoping that you can throw any number of "Note Receiver" devices on a track and they all mix/feed into the instrument on that track? If so, that solves this!crazyfiltertweaker wrote:do the audio and note receiver mix with audio and midi if on the track is data?
