Hiya xt-geeks

Just about to finish off 24-bit support in xt now, and wanted to know of there are anyone waiting for me to implement 32-bit rec/playback support as well???

Or should I go on and work on performance-playlist and sampler (:party:)?

Yes please. I'm really waiting for it.
I'm trying to keep it 32float only but I have to convert all sounds I make to 16bit for eXT.

Btw, do yo have a short mono and stereo wav file in 32float I can use for testing (a bass drum or something...well anything that doesnt sound like digital noise

)?

I guess the next question is, anyone using 32-bit integer wav's?

Jorgen, if you implement 32bit float I'm all for it

- though I'm dying to see the sampler - if you need examples I could mail you some female vocals in 32bit

of course it will be - not all soundcards support anything else than 16bit b.t.w.

Here are some random samples of a kick, snare and cymbal at 32 bit float. Original stereo files but I also converted them to mono files

it's a rar package

Sampler looks also very intresting

- I'm mailing him right now two files which are about 45sec each - I thought they are pretty short
but I am not sure anymore

(I usually use 32bit for microphone-recordings which tend to be much longer most of the time)

but now it's like a conflict between the first and the second statement in the sentence.

yep, you're right - I know now what you mean - when I tried to concentrate on thinking about if my sentence was really logically correct I suddenly got all confused myself

Looks like 16int, 24int and 32float are the most commonly used formats(?), at least among the xt pro's

not all pro's use anything else than 24bit
