The current plan is to bump it up to 32 slots.xx JPRacer xx wrote:Sorry if this was answered before, but do you plan to add more slots to the mod matrix?

Have tried both versions now and unfortunately 1.01 did not fix the cpu issues. Im still peaking at 100% for most presets with an i7 4930 k 6core @ 32G.
Sent another message to Steve and have not heard back. Its such a pity, this is by far the best wavetable synth Ive heard. Not only that, the introductory price ends in a weeks time.
Im gathering all other AAX plugin users are experiencing the same problems.

No, and I didn't receive your email either, not if it was sent since 1.01 was released at least -> steve@xferrecords.com and please let me know your PT version and buffer size and Sample Rate setting, and we can troubleshoot that.Im gathering all other AAX plugin users are experiencing the same problems.

Just for a comparison, on PT11 on my i5-3570k at 48000 I can run 128 voices (both oscs at 16 unison with 4 notes held = 32*4 = 128) which displays in the lower-right of serum-> this yields just 28% CPU on one core in the System Usage window in PT.

The thing is a monster.
After playing with it for some hours, it has lived up to expectations.
Ergonomically, and pure sound wise, its a dream.
I was worried I would pine for the Massive mod system, but oh no! So far, loving this.
And for me, in actual use, the cpu use is not as bad as it came of when ripping through the demo.
Seems to be crankin a little harder than Massive in comparison, but I am probably tweaking on it a little harder..
So far I am tending to have trouble with it sitting in a mix but thats just getting used to the filters and fx...
Another pre-fx filter would be super nice. And yeah, just a couple of those planned additional mod slots will be handy.
Aside from that, gosh its perfect.

Okay, so I'm demoing with an open mind. The synth still sounds cold, but it's not a bad thing at all. I think wavetable synths are supposed to sound cold. I'm liking what I'm hearing actually. CPU usage is okay. Only real kicker is the same as stated above... the presets take forever to load. I'm seriously considering this... maybe the presets will be loading faster before the sale ends? I hope.xx JPRacer xx wrote:Maybe this could be related to this, from the manual : "sub-tables are computed at load-time: Serumtuzemec wrote:There's just a small annoying thing - some presets are slow to load
embeds the information for which interpolation type is in use, rather than the interpolated waveforms (which eliminates wasted disk space)."
So they are computed each time when you load the preset.

Well, It's rather unlikely in the next week that will be resolved- I expect somewhere between 2x to 8x improvement in load time is achievable, and other processes should speed up as well (WT importing, WT Processing). It's a priority and it's in fact next on my plate. Fortunately support/issues are dissipating, so I finally have more dev time... maybe the presets will be loading faster before the sale ends?
If it's really the last thing preventing a purchase, you can contact me and I'm pretty sure we can work something out one way or another.

What do you mean? The changes are smooth here if I use the smoothing functions.tooneba wrote:i assume it sounds cold when using wt position because the waveform changes not organically. it changes in stages.

@Steve
The updated manual is included in the new demo but not in the update on the official forum.
