Of course it can run well for some people. But running XP (or even Vista) these days is the same as if you drive an oldtimer: be prepared to not get spare part's easily and not find any accessory offers in the next gas station. Even the new iPhone may not fit into the holder... ;-)

Plugin developers have a LOT on their plates already: Different platforms, different OS versions, different plugin formats, different Bit-depths, many many very different hosts...
All need to be developed, tested and maintained, so you need installations of them and be able to give support if something fails...

At one point you have to make a cut to stay sane.

Give those devs a break

Cheers,

Tom

Same thing can be said about those with 64bit systems no longer able to use some of their 32 bit plugins.

No, it is not necessary in this case to make the plugin XP-compatible:

I may be wrong, but it seems that orion is not distributed/maintained anymore right?
Orion is still being actively worked on as we speak. I'm part of the beta and a lot of cool things are planned, hopefully soon. Orion should be back up once the code is updated to todays tech, pretty soon.

About the delay, for some reason it didn't work when I tried it at first, but It works smooth right now and sounds awesome. Fantastic even! I think the preset browser just isn't working.

One small request, is it possible to split delay times in 16ths? Its just my personal preference. Kinda like the way Karma delay is setup. For instance Left 3/16, right 5/16 etc. Also is there a way just to use the modulation without triggering any delay?

I have a Tandy Color III in my closet. It still works well.

Worse, there are people still using analog equipment in their studio. Seems to work well for them.

Got the 64bit version working in Reaper after installing the VC redistributable lib but 32bit plugin is not showing up in Samplitude Pro11. Fails plugin scan.

I don't see the point of a dropdown menu that just leads to a browser - either have a browser or a dropdown menu with presets in it, or both, but not a dropdown menu that contains nothing except a link to the browser.

Seems pretty nice, not sure if I need it, but that price and some of the built in features like pitch might sway me in the end. Is ducking planned at all?

I would like to say that the demo limitation of locking me out for five seconds every time I re-access the GUI panel, is infuriating me! I work on a notebook with very little screen real estate, so constant closing and re-opening of plugins is just something I have gotten used to doing

There's nothing stopping you from using Windows XP and your old DAW and plugins in your studio if it's working fine. I'm sure you PC will run for years.

But running 2014 code on a 2001 OS can cause problems and if you still want to stick with your old OS it's your problem, not the dev.

(when you click the download button, microsoft will propose you 3 files to download, choose vcredist_x64.exe if you have a windows 64bit, or the 32 one if your windows is 32bits)
Are you sure that vcredist_x64.exe contains both 32bit and 64bit library versions?
If I want to run both 32bit and 64bit plugins on a 64bit OS perhaps I need to install both???

In typical Microsoft fashion the download page does not tell whether x86 means "for x86 OS" or "for x86 executables".

Well the problem is known and has been solved before. To get rid of the GetTickCount64 error is feasible (see previous posts). Nevertheless Tritik decided not to target XP. Totally fine with me, I just pointed out - since a lot of users here still use XP - they could have easily sold more copies. And now have fun with your Windows 8 Bitwig Cat studio.

At 9 bucks apiece, how many more licenses would the dev had had to sell to at least break even with the time devoted to making tkDelay compatible with an outdated and retired OS? It's a business, after all.

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

There are people who shoot themselves in the face, what the f**k has that got to do with supporting a dead OS that isn't even supported by its own creators anymore ?
Just because you want to be stubborn about using an updatable (Notice that word, yes thats right, that analogue equipment is not updatable) out of date piece of software designed for the past, why should any developer support your choices ?
Duh

Yes, that was it. Works fine in Samplitude 11. :tu:
meloco_go wrote:Is it possible to allow shorter delay times? I like when it is possible to use delays for flanger/chorus effects, and the minimum right now (10 ms if there's no hidden multiplier or something) is a bit longish for this.
I absolutely agree. Allowing shorter times and finer precision for small time values adds zero complexity to the user and makes the plugin even more versatile. IMHO delay time should be expressed in milliseconds like any other delay.
