If Hive offers more features as Sylenth, for lower or similar cpu cost, with a better sound quality (well as always on every u-he synth :D ) with a easy and slim layout, it will probably be the new better or maybe perfect Sylenth - the new ultimate EDM "Volkssynth" :hihi:

Please more than 6 mod matrix slots !

For a moderately expressive patch MW & AT assignments could easily take up the full number of slots . Waves' Codex synth feels severely limited by having only 6 slots . It would only take a simple 1/2/3 button , not much to add to a gui...and it would extend the range of possible sounds by a great degree .

Im all for simple synths , but please dont cripple The Hive !

Add as many mod matrix slots as are bees in a hive :D
"Mod combs"

no RM and FM? whyy wwhyy??
Instead of oversampling, why not simply cut the highs out or something? :hihi:

The ideal Swiss Army knife synth would combine these features. The talk of Hive as a Sylenth-killer had me thinking this might be that synth...
Well, Hive is foremost supposed to be ultimately CPU efficient. It has PWM, but it doesn't have RM or FM. Audiorate modulation requires oversampling, and that automatically ruins CPU efficiency.

As Hive doesn't sound exactly like Sylenth I don't think it's a "Sylenth killer". It covers many similar grounds, but one feature or two might make 1:1 patch conversion impossible. Such as, gain compensated filter resonance, pitch-based detune attenuation and possibly a dozen other features.
Ok just one more question/comment

So how fast would the LFO's being able modulate the pitch?

The mod matrix is the one aspect of Sylenth that really does need a serious overhaul. I think aping that part of the synth is possibly a mistake and even a tabbed mod matrix system is better than a compromise too far to keep things all on one page.

For me only Sylenth's poor preset management is a big annoyance.

Keep in mind it's not just 6 slots. There are dedicated routings on certain things already. And each slot has 2 destinations. So this is not as limited as Sylenth1.

"LFOs and Envelopes have dedicated targets in the osc and filter sections already - there's a lot of modulation possible without using any modulation matrix, e.g. filters have an env depth knob and envelopes have a velocity parameter."

I feel that this discussion could go in the same direction as the "give us MSEGs/a Mod Matrix for Diva".

If I want a synth with a vast amount of modulation capabilities, I stick to Zebra.

Still want a Trance gate though... :clown:

Hehe, I think we're discussing too much of something that isn't there yet :hihi:

No don't, I need to keep being drip fed information to get excited about

Yeah, same here... please don't stop. :D Isn't the foreplay always the best thing?

Okay, that's fair enough.

Btw. we'll be updating our website with dedicated pages for Hive and Presswerk soon. Maybe this week.
