Anybody had problems with project content disappearing? Recently Tracktion froze on me and when I got it back all the content of my carefully crafted song had disappeared. The project appeared in the list but no content! A couple of others that I had not even been working on went as well.

Any chance the files have been 'parked' somewhere and can be retrieved?

 :help:

losing work in the edit you had open I can understand (though it would be a black mark for Tracktion if it happened), but losing work on edits you *didn't* have open?

I'm not sure but I'm going to guess that some data on your hard drive may have got corrupted when the machine froze. You might want to try running scandisk over the drive just to make sure nothing nasty happened (or is happening).

Have you searched your HDD for the missing media? Tracktion defaults to some pretty wacky names when you record (can't remember the format, but I think it's something like tracktion_datetime_takenumber.wav/aiff). It seems odd to me that tracktion could possibly cause a disk corruption so localized as to wipe out only the recorded media. There shuold at least be some kind of 'footprint' on the disc (if not the actual intact media).

Been out for a couple of days but checked my hdd yesterday. Nothing showing up. Guess I'll have to put it down to poltergeists! Thanks for your response

I have a project where I can hear the sound but not see the tracks. Nothing in the left column or the track files.

that sounds like a known bug where the track position is stored wrongly in the archive. It's a display bug, and easy to fix.

Try searching the forum for invisible track, ISTR there was a thread about it recently by that title.

Yes, I started a thread a while back when a similar problem hapenned to me, and a few peoples responded to having experienced the same. Not fun at all.
You should be able to find the audio files again if Tracktion crashed, look for them in the folder that you set as temporary folder for T, or the project folder itself.
As to recovering the project, I wasn't able to, but I whish you the best of luck as this is no fun at all.

I've run into this once or twice myself: it seems to happen when there are enough tracks for a scrollbar to appear at the right side of the tracks, before the pan/level and filter controls. When you scroll up to the first track, it's possible to scroll PAST the first track *really easily* and lose sight of all your edits and tracks. Not sure exactly how this happens, but I just wanted to confirm that this has happened to me before. I was also never able to get back my edits. Not fun.
