Hearing Joseph's track for the E-Motion Padsheaven Soundset for Spire was the first time I was truly impressed by a soundset demo. The sounds are stunning.

Serum 1.02b6 is up in the Serum user forum: more new features (additional filter settings, .tun file lock), Logic+Yosemite compatibility tweaks, and more fixes!

Good news from Steve, glad to see the progress!
I can't say the same to myself, my promised release slipped to the next week -Sorry.
Single presets from my upcoming Serum soundset:
1 KEY Exotic Fairlight
2 PD Carillion
Both of them have a nice sustainig stage.
Exotic Fairlight is like an old Dx Fairlight type on steroids with some chimes.
Carillion is a soft warm stereo Pad, but the attack stage useful as a Pearl pluck
also.
Cheers

Today I got around to reading the manual and discovered you can use the noise osc as a modulator. Today was a good day.

Really though, it's one of those synths where everything seems so intuitive and straightforward that you perpetually feel like the manual can wait. I missed loads of little tricks as a result though. Being able to switch modulations from bipolar to unipolar with an shift-alt-click; little workflow enhancements like that as well as a few big things. The awesome unison modes that allow you to shift the 'central' voice down in octaves (among others) completely passed me by, for instance. Being able to view the phase response of the filters is cute, especially when using the allpass filter to smear things up. The hints on how to create new tables are great too. Superb synth.

Which reminds me...is there a pdf that I can download straight to my ipad? I try to get as many manuals as I can on it for convenient reference. I've yet to crack the Serum manual because I'm too lazy to fire up my computer and hunt it down.

Serum keeps things interesting by having capabilities that take things a few steps further.
Part of the fun is in the discovery.
