Here is a more melodic presentation I did with Bazille.

A little ramble, so excuse me:

I'm only now really starting to study synthesis - prior to Bazille my knowledge was extremely basic - ADSR, Cutoff and Resonance, and LFOs. Everything else was trial and error, fooling around til I found a sound I liked, and then working further on shaping that. The way Bazille is layed out and the cables has really furthered my understanding.

This has led me back to Zebra today to explore my old patches. Armed with knowledge Bazille bestowes, I'm improving them very easily, tidying up superfluous modules and routings, and tightening each sound in a focused manner, actually knowing what I'm doing (well, more often than usual) as opposed to tweaking til it sounds how I want it to.

Which leads me to the following: I'm having a lot of fun setting up the 4 XY performance panels. I've never really bothered with them, but once they're set up, it's even more fun to use with Push.
I would love some XY performance panels for Bazille.

They make it real convenient to combine plenty of parameters at once into a streamlined interface for consistent results when playing around with any particular patch. It beats trying to set up racks in Live - the macros don't update correctly when loading one rack after the other (a confirmed bug from Ableton - they do however update with their own devices).

Another few minor things that would be an improvement for me:

- In Gearporn mode, the patch browser feels very cramped. I wish I could resize it, or just have it the size of the Original skin's browser.
- Howard suggested that upon right-clicking the oscilloscope, we could also have the option of displaying the patch info. This would be very handy for the notes I keep.

Otherwise, this thing has still not let go of my life. I need to get out again.

I really love how Bazille can sound so on the edge... almost out of control but not quite and with lots of unexpected nuances. (especially this second one)

Yes, I love that about it. It's a feral synth, with the loveliest fur pelt.

I was making some animal noises yesterday (with Bazille, not me on my own), and somehow wound up creating a patch that sounds very much like R2D2.

Plain boring sound... heh

Actually I would take that further, a modular synth like Bazille would also benefit from XY's that can generate midi or some other form of continuous tone generation interface.
