On some Cubase forums, I've often read about the ACPI or Standard Mode choice (something IRQ related I think) to gain performance on PC with W2K (and/or XP ?).
Does it matter for Tracktion ?
Is there a preferable mode or not ?
PC for T. : ACPI or Standard Mode ?

Ideally you should run with APCI enabled, as it is more efficient with resources.
Some people have had problems with APCI and found that reverting back to stamdard mode helped.
You cannot make the change on the fly though, you need to reinstall your OS after setting the interrupt mode.
FWIW, I use APCI and have no problems whatsoever.

In my defense, I'd only just woken up.
