Keyboard controller out of sync

I have a studiologic VMK161 controller and Novation SL MKII, connected to my Receptor VIP. I've been experiencing some syncing problems. I was playing my VMK keyboard and suddenly it would go out of sync. I would get about a second delay after striking a key. I would correct this by rebooting my VIP. It's already happened to me a few times. This has never happened before. I just started using Swam sample modeling horns. I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem. I was running "Amber Piano" and "Swam" sample modeling horns when it happened.

I would monitor the CPU usage when using SWAM. You can get a general idea of the CPU usage using Receptor Remote Viewer. The CPU meter can be found in the bottom right hand corner of the Receptor's Rack mode GUI or the top right of the Mix Mode view.

SWAM, while I have not tested it myself yet I believe is a physical modeling synthesizer. Physical models are known to be quite CPU heavy.

Your right it is a physical modeling vst. I'll have to closely monitor it to see if that is the culprit. I'll let you know what I find. Thanks

Well it turns out that the problem wasn't with the Swam but with the midi connection via the din5 midi cable. I connected the usb compliant cable to my VMK 161 and it worked perfectly. Just to be certain about the midi cable, I connected it to another keyboard and the same problem occurred. I have a couple of old midi cables and I'm guessing the cables are bad. My cables are over 10 yrs old. I'm not sure if the receptor has a way to test midi cables. I'm just going to buy some new midi cables and see if that clears up the problem.
