There is nothing in the Receptor VIP manual on backup and restore. I have read there is a youtube video explaining the process, but cant seem to locate it.
Can anyone help here?

Receptor VIP backup and restore

Hi mal7, I'm surprised no one has answered. Probably too late now, but here is how I think it can be done in case you're still struggling:
Open the Muse remote control on your computer with the Receptor connected. As soon as you open it (and before you connect to the GUI with "open viewer", which was a mistake I kept making and hence couldn't make sense of any instructions) there are several options, click on the one called "show drive", this shows the Receptor like a drive on your computer. Copy anything you might want to backup to another drive on your computer. I don't know as I haven't tried yet but I presume restore would be a matter of replacing anything in there with what you've copied as backup.
I too am finding the instructions not very helpful, I read the manual from top to bottom many times, then realised there was a lot more information in the FAQ's on the support, and youtube videos but it all seems a bit random and hard to find what you want. Often when you do find the relevant instructions it either doesn't work the way it says in the instructions or the instructions miss out a step.

thanks for the reply Paul .. I worked out how to back up, but unfortunately my VIP still wont complete the procedure. I have been in touch with Muse support, and I am doing everything right, but there seems to be a problem with the VIP software.
Have given up, and will keep my fingers crossed the hard drive doesn't die on me..
