I'm calling that pretty well rounded. I once left a Bootsy Collins and his Rubber Band show due to excessive SPL. It basically sounded like a ton of distorted subs with a pink noise generator over it. Love is music though, especially the later stuff he did on Bill Laswell's lable.

I liked the Bootsy funk a lot, it had a similar energy to James Brown but was less boring and predictable and occasionally had a bit more going on than just endless chord vamps with the obligatory bridge.

Just give me the one! I need to check out the new Floyd album. Haven't heard a lick of it yet.

Anyone still saying that Serum is intrinsically "cold", forever hold your tongue! ;-)

Thank you Joachim!
I couldn't resist to make sounds after seeing the inviting Serum UI, but reading about the "cold" stuff was really a kick for me to prove the oppsite. hehe

Glad you like it db3! :)

Can't wait for Steve to add the draft mode though or hopefully do some multi-threading like u-he did with Diva and D-16 did with Lush which helped tremendously.

Thank you too zvenx! Yes the promised draft mode is really needed for this hungry beast.
We already get a lot of things with the updates, 32 matrix slots - i never ever dreamed of -
so i'm sure draft mode will coming soon. 8)

I would not worried about that. I was using it very sparsely and carefully so if any other
reverb will come, it will be simply better. If i recall correctly Steve was talking about a second
reverb algorithm. So i think - i am not too happy - but this reverb will stay.

..and now listen some sounds:)

Some Pads I created using 3rd party wavetables, part of a soundset I plan to release soon. Mostly consisting of exotic Goa Trance Legato Style Leads, Snappy Basses, and Chilled Pads. Over 400 presets so far but will narrow it down to 128. This will be my first soundset. Cheers.

Is this a bug? Serum seems to be unable to remember midi assignments for macros between presets. Set them up using midi learn, switch presets and you have to do it over again.

Post

Yes. It's strange. :ud:

Post

It works OK with Kore which uses VST automation but just not if I assign knobs using my midi controller.

It's not a bug, because presets can contain MIDI assignments. You can create a default MIDI template: http://www.xferrecords.com/forums/default-midi-map
and it will persist program changes (and newly-learned CC's will also persist preset changes).

How do I setup a default midi map then? I want to use midi learn rather than faff around with text - particularly as I don't know what cc each knob is sending.

Post

I use it for some times now, I've to say it one of the best synth I ever saw, clearly, it fit perfectly layered with some other synth to create extremely wide pads !!

Love it !!!

it was added in 1.01, you save it in the MIDI maps folder as default.mmp
I too had asked him on his forum. You have to save it as default.mmp using the save midi map item in the menu, in that specific location.
Working great for me now.
