Hi Alex,
this is not a test, more a little first sight report.
U-he on Linux is a fine idea.

setup:
Ubuntu Studio 14.04
Bitwig demo version: plugs are working
Tracktion 5 : working with bug

the bug:
On top of T5 are tabs: "Projekts" , "Settings" , "name of current projekt" and "+".
When i switch from a projekt to "Settings" and back to the projekt, there is a black layer covering the plug for approx 95%, like a not fitting protection sheet, sound can be heard.
When i delete the plug in the track and put it back into, it works again.

First i thougt it was a demo feature like the rancid crackling, but it is in Podlski too.

I took "Tal noise maker" as a reference: no problems at all.

So you mean that if you only have one track with only Podolski loaded you hear cracklings?

No there is no cracklin in Podolski. Podolski has the black sheet too.

You can expect all the u-he plugin to crackle until they're registered. Except that the free plugins should not crackle. So I don't understand very well you issue.

The cracklin is a demo feature. First i thought, the black sheet is a demo feature too.
But when i installed Podolski, the black sheet appeared too, no crackles.
In order to control either it is a T5 or u-he bug i tested it with "Tal-Noise Maker" synth, there was no black sheet.

OK I get it now.
So the UI is not redrawn at all or just the bottom is not redrawn?
Anyway I should have a look at t5.

one can see a part of the top line of the synth and a few pixel wide line all around, like a not exactly fitting plastic sheet on a smartphone

All plugins work pretty good with Ardour, but I have some errors with Bitwig Studio.
