Hi im new to the forum so please be gentle with me ..
I am a total novice with synthesizers but love the sound of them and was looking for a dynth to add to my recordings. Im totally a hobbiyist and im new to the entire DAW thing so im trying to learn midi and such too. Being a simple guitarist im finding it a challenge!
Anyhow, after much research i settled on Diva as my first choice of synth and purchased a copy - i love it!
However when i actually record a midi track into my DAW (Sonar X3) the recorded track seems to be transposed by a tone and i cant for the life of me find the cause ( ive checked Sonars midi transpose function and its not that) as it doesnt happen with any other synth or VST Instrument that i use.
Im probably just being a newbie but could anyone suggest what the issue may be? I love the synth and at present cant use it in my humble recordings ( probably due to incompetance)
Oh and Hi to the Forum :)

Hi, and welcome :-)
Might be an unwanted "MidiLearn"... Go to the Main / Tuning panel, right-click on the 'Transpose ' value and select MidiUnLearn. Do the same for the Fine Tune knob. Fixed?

Hi Howard thanks for the swift reply.
I tried both your suggestions and it still has the same problem. When the VST is first opened it is at the correct pitch - as soon as i record a midi track and play it through diva it transposes it down a tone - a Dmin triad is now a C min triad ( notes C d# G ). I cant explain it!!! If it transposedcall the notes down a tone it would surely be a Cmaj triad or at least the notes C E G. So its actually transposing the chord and not the notes. Id be tempted to look at Sonar asbthe culprit, except as i say, it only happens on Diva and none of my other synths. Its driving me mad!!!

Oh and if i trigger another synth with the same midi track it plays in the correct pitch. Gahhh!!!!!!!

I think ive sorted it!! It was pretty much what you said, except for the cutoff and resonance - i think i mapped it to the mod wheel of my controller and a knob so i could do filter sweeps etc in realtime. Why that affected pitch i really dont know but hey ho, it seems to have remedied the problem for now :)

Nop. No it hasnt. Same problem. Any ideas anyone??!!!!

In the inspector on your midi track, in the midi tab, turn off the "snap to scale" button.

Hope this helps!

This sounds a lot like the "Sonar incorrectly sets VST3 Pitch Wheel on Transport reset" bug (in Sonar) that's been around for a long time. Are you by any chance using the VST3 version?
Use the VST2 instead. :)
Cheers
