Hi,

i am in need of good FM sounds, especially basses and really would like to purchase EVE with its HQ soundset (which demos impressed me) instead of the more pricy sytrus, but:
how good is it for FM-like basses ?
Are there many waveforms and how much options gives combining
them ?
And: how much computer memory these sets need ( i assume they are quite big).

Thank you, Richard

Hi Richard,

In truth, there aren't many bass sounds in HQS1. About 8 of the 90 sample sets are specifically bass sounds, althoug some of the synth sounds would be useable also.

However, if you like FM sounds in general, you're bound to like the set. I've heard many akai disks that didn't come with nearly as many useable sounds, and they were 4x the price of the EVE+samplesets bundle.

I should prolly admit to being slightly bias, as I am the creator of the soundset ;)

Ah, thanks for the reply.
I listened to a demo on the Dash site (by you, probably ?) which blew me really off - sounds damm good, pricey, lush.....
At the moment i struggle abit about saving my money to buy Sytrus which is great even if its lacking character and is overpriced or EVE which hasn´t these flaws; additionally, i like the Dash and Nusofting stuff REALLY - it is simply musical.
Not sure still - but my pocket is empty anyway now

Yep, the demo was probably mine :) Glad you like it. Lush is definately a word I'd use to describe the FS1r, and EVE's layering and fx possibilites really open the samples for creative patching :)
