Hi Sugar Bytes,

I think you guys are very close to having an incredibly playable, live performance software here, but there are few things holding it back. With a few simple mapping additions, this could really be a powerful live performance software!

Egoist (stand alone) really needs a midi learn mode, or at least allow us to map more parameters in plug in mode!

I want to be able to MIDI map: (tested in Ableton live 9.1.6)
- each part's individual randomize button [currently not able to map in plugin/standalone]
-"slice Key mode" button [currently not able to map in plugin/standalone]
- mappable Pattern selector (either a knob range or momentary)
- each part's erase button [currently not able to map in plugin/standalone]
- tap tempo [currently not able to map standalone]
- next/previous pattern [currently not able to map in plugin/standalone]
- Part/Pattern/Song modes [currently not able to map in plugin/standalone]
- all FX parameters [can map as plugin only, standalone not mappable]
- many slicer parameters (sensitivity, pitch, length, envelope, maxout) [standalone: not able to map, plugin: all but sensitivity and random will map]

You guys are so close to a fantastic live performance app...(there is a very strong groovebox resurgence happening at the moment) and I hope you guys can make the most of this great software!

Just wanted to reply to agree with ya'!

OK, upon further reading, there is a midi learn function: R click opens a midi learn graphic (at least in stand alone.

However, most of the requests in my OP are not mappable in this manner! You can map most elements that actually change the sounds (slice length, max out, most bass controls, most drum controls).

Unfortunately, you can't map most of the actual interface controls: tap tempo, pattern/part/song/key slice modes etc. These would be very nice to map for performance purposes!

Also, please let us add our own drum samples! (I suppose you can via the slicer, but still)

You've got a nice product, and I hope you continue to improve it!

Have someone know how to have the slicer and the drums separated in the daw version?, i tried to open 2 egoist plugins in the same song and turn off the drums and viceversa, then map both to my controller... but then i realize that i cant map in the pattern numbers to play them as in the iPad version... ... i bought the daw version thinking it would be an improvment and this is kind of anoying. multiple outputs its really what we need.

Please dont stop updating this, it's a really great tool.

Agreed with the ops points.
It seems that both thesys and egoist - while having nice randomize functions for creating static patterns - miss out when it comes to realtime variation. Thesys at least has some things that can be varied randomly or I can put some midi-modification plugins behind it, but egoist misses this completely and I can't really work around it.
Things like a play-probability setting for each step, a random detune setting per step etc. to break up the static patterns.

If it would be possible to trigger the randomize buttons from the outside, this could at least be partially achieved, but as it is, both plugins see much less use here than I initially thought they would.

So yeah, some great potential here that goes unexplored ;-)

Cheers,

Tom
