Fantastic news! I was able to get the GC deal in Canada! The only requirement is a US billing address. When the GC transaction is complete you need to phone the credit card company and tell them you ordered something to an alternate address. It had already reached them when the CC rep checked and they said the transaction was approved and a few minutes later the confirmation email with licence number arrived!
Now a licenced Bitwig user, yay!

I'm glad to hear you were able to take advantage of this sweet deal. Hopefully others outside of the US can do the same. Welcome to the club!Johnser wrote:Fantastic news! So your disgruntled that a company has a sale on their product?dsan@mail.com wrote:I have to admit I was a bit taken aback when I realized the priced had dropped to $299 and now to see it at $199 is a bit disconcerting. I bought in when it was $399 at the beginning to be supportive of a new company and I believed in the product.hibidy wrote:I've seen this argument so many times on kvr. I just want to go on record saying I can understand totally with having that drastic a sale in a short period of time kinda pissing me off.
It's true you don't always win.......shit happens. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna feel good about
Now, it seems the rewards go to those that wait and a possibility of feeling taken if you are an early adopter.
But we don't know yet the plans BWS has for those early adopters and what rewards await them. There seems to be a point of the badges awarded.
I see Ogopogo's point clearly. Things happen. Too bad I didn't wait, maybe. We'll see.
But I also see how those that paid more, especially wthin a few days are a bit disgruntled.
It is a learning experience and will make one think twice about being supportive.
My advice, and what I'm gonna do.....forget about it and make music. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.
Happy Musiking!

By this logic you shouldnt buy anything during a sale and no company should ever have sales because it makes their customers feel ripped off.
Everyone knows stuff goes on sale and after some time the product will go down in price. The only exception maybe Sylenth1. Even iphones and ipads get cheaper. Do you feel ripped off that you got an iphone 5 for full price when its almost 25%cheaper after the 6 was launched?

Well ordered mine using a VPN from musicians friend on friday afternoon and I'm still bloody waiting. What a joke. I've emailed them and they say this is due to high volumes. It's a god dam digital download..... It should be instant. I'm gonna call them, and if they can't sort its getting cancelled.

I bought mine from GuitarCenter this thursday and got my key within an hour. I'm from the Netherlands and I didn't even use a VPN, I just set my currency to USD and used a bogus shipping address.

Congratulations. Must admit I'm not brave enough to try it in case something goes wrong lolcoolblinger wrote:I bought mine from GuitarCenter this thursday and got my key within an hour. It's strange because I have bought plenty of things from the States over the years, both download and physical, and never had a problem. I'm beginning to believe what GC told me, that Bitwig are blocking the sale and that puts me off bothering.

I don't even understand how they can offer it cheaper than Bitwig do from their own site? Can anyone explain this? Surely cutting out the middle man would result in a cheaper product?
