Flexibility.

For example, I often use chorus with feedback and delay controls (rate at zero) as a kind of resonator.

The other synth has a chorus with feedback and delay, no?

Have those as module presets?

The different center delays are just a small piece of what makes those models different. There's also filtering, multiple taps, lfo shape and possibly some other factors.

I'll think about it. We also have other options for comb filtering. Once the basic feature set is finished we might investigate those possibilities.

Also, don't expect Hive to copy that other synth. One can't perfectly match their sound, simply also because we do some things we find flawed differently. Such as the detune law and missing gain compensation for filter resonance.

Urs, maybe try something simple with your delay which is featured in Diva and Bazille?

I always want to use that as a chorus or chorus-echo since it has feedback and delay and wow-mod...

The only thing I'm asking of course is that the delay time would go quicker than 1.0.... since it's in .00 , I suggest a 0.01 minimum, if that doesn't work or seem too "dangerous" for feedback, than a 0.10 would really help! :tu:

That would be lovely!
If there isn't a direct implementation to preserve patch compatibility or something, may I suggest a switch for long/short times where the long will act "normal" as is, and the short will have 0.01 min and 1.00 max. :) Imagine what would you can do with short delay times, simply awesome! :D

It might be desirable to match (and then surpass) the feature set.

One feature is focus on necessity and the instant gratification that comes with it. I'm sure we'll surpass it there ;)

In Diva you can't ever hear the oscillator by itself. They always run through the filters and amplifiers. Even with filters fully opened they will still colour the sound of the oscillators.

In Zebra you can get pure oscillators (set to "crisp" mode if you need more treble). But if you put, say, a highpass and a lowpass (XMF) in series you can get pretty much the same thickness as you get in Diva.

The advantage of Zebra is, you can do all those things. The advantage of Diva is, you don't have to do them.
thanks urs i never really checked all this but it's intresting :tu:

Guys i couldn't find if there is a release date annonced? Also i wonder hive will have some fm modulations ,syncro ?

The more I shut up and read, the more I realize how little I know.
+1 on the "Thanks for that info". I need to go wring out my mental sponge. I've been a studious boy lately...

Yes, in default size. It can be scaled to different resolutions.
