I also prefer Paypal, but I don't see that as a deal-breaker. That would mean I would never buy from Amazon...DrumAddict wrote:very nice but this are only available via toontrack and not from the Resellers !Ryan99 wrote:First Toontrack Advent Calendar sale:

Keep in mind that credit cards are much less common e.g. in Germany. For many this could really be the deal-breaker.Ryan99 wrote:I also prefer Paypal, but I don't see that as a deal-breaker. I don't know, the payment seemed to work fine with my Visa debit-only card.paterpeter wrote:Keep in mind that credit cards are much less common e.g. in Germany. It's the same kind of flawed reasoning that people apply when they think that it's OK for a "retailer" or a developer to profit from posting ads in the marketplace, but that it isn't OK for an "affiliate" to.Fidelitymusic wrote:I'm trying to understand the point you're trying to make. So if these deals for different products were being posted by separate users you'd have no problem with it? But because they're being posted by JRR you're having a moral issue with it.xamido wrote:http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... start=5025valerian_777 wrote:I dont see it that way. It's good to have single posts for single bargains and it doesn't matter if they come from ONE retailer or ANY other person. Saying JRR is spamming KVR is ridiculous. Who could take this serious?
A whole page of just jrrshop post, and most of them can actually be edited in to the previous post since nobody else is posting beside them. And yet there's the need to make a new post.
It's fine if he do it on his own thread at the marketplace, but this is on official KVR bargain thread. That's what i'm questioning.
Lol.

It's not about morals, it's about drawing a line to try to keep the forum clean, tidy and civil. And I believe here is a clear consensus about avoiding affiliate links. If everyone were trying to push their own affiliate links in each post this forum would stink.SalemBeatsKVR wrote:It's the same kind of flawed reasoning that people apply when they think that it's OK for a "retailer" or a developer to profit from posting ads in the marketplace, but that it isn't OK for an "affiliate" to.

Affiliate links are something completely different IMO. Eric (Uncle E) provides his own infrastructure, running his shop on his own cost. Affiliate links make use of other people's infrastructure. Affiliates don't have to invest anything and are just skimming money off of other people's business.standalone wrote:It's not about morals, it's about drawing a line to try to keep the forum clean, tidy and civil. I really appreciate what JRR Shop has to offer and I'd like to see those bargain in the future, too.
That being said, I agree that those posts should probably be consolidated. It's not necessary to post each and every offer in its own post.
And that being said - I think the last "flood" of offers was due to the Black Friday madness. Eric normally doesn't posts as much in succession in the bargain center thread.

Lol to your lousy argument. I hate affiliate links. I respect any retailer. So what? Get over it you are not in the same league. Two complete different things. Can you stop to think you have a business? Don't bore us with your stinky links and cross-reference to a real retailer when it comes to ads.SalemBeatsKVR wrote:It's the same kind of flawed reasoning that people apply when they think that it's OK for a "retailer" or a developer to profit from posting ads in the marketplace, but that it isn't OK for an "affiliate" to.

While we're on the topic, I've thought up a brand new game called 'Find the affiliate link', let's see who's first!
