But a modulator on pitch is not really CPU heavy, is it? I kept in mind that the transformation parameters (skew, halve, ...) are especially heavy but other modulation destinations are light, is that correct?

+ 1, hopefully Vojtech is familiar with this. It means you can set the detuning frequency of an oscillator to always be for instance 4 Hz for a suitable beating frequency no matter how high or low the notes. If for instance osc 2 is not detuned and you play a note where osc 2 sounds at 440 Hz then osc 3 detuned by + 4 Hz will have a freqeuency of 444 Hz, up an octave osc 2 wil be at 880 Hz and osc 3 at 884 Hz etc.DonHepe wrote:And one more feature request: alternate "fixed ratio" detune mode
to keep osc beating frequency constant from lo to high notes.
It can also be quite nice on unison detuning so if you implement I'd love to see it as an option also on the unison detuning.

Yes, it's not as heavy as transformations. Still it can be too much with big chords and multiple tracks, very high protection, 2x oversampling and 3 modulators doing independent drifting for each oscillator. I think a dedicated knob per osc to mimic VCO instability would be nice feature, less CPU heavy, and less hassle to set it up.CableChannel wrote:But a modulator on pitch is not really CPU heavy, is it? What would also be very cool is if you could convert a morph between the A-H preset buttons into a multiparameter
That way you could actually store multiple variations of a sound in one preset and morph seamlessly via one or more multiparameters.

Ok, fixed ratio detune added to the to-do list, I'm not saying it will be done yet though, needs some investigation

Yeah but you have to edit all values yourself. When I play around with a sound, change a lot of parameters and find a new cool variation, THEN I would like to automatically morph between these. I can do this by entering all value ranges by hand, and if that could be done automatically that would be cool. Not a high prio thing, but it would be a nice gimmickDonHepe wrote:CableChannel wrote:What would also be very cool is if you could convert a morph between the A-H preset buttons into a multiparameterThat way you could actually store multiple variations of a sound in one preset and morph seamlessly via one or more multiparameters.
You can do this with multiparameter in banks mode, up to 32 snapshots within one preset.

Not really, you can just "Store" the settings in the bank. Of course you need to learn all of the parameters you want to access. Anyway one thing is certain: Multiparameters will NEVER be able to access A-H presets, impossible, would be for a longer conversation.

Thanks! ...and possibly maybe also drift knob, note on random panning, release stage tremolo?MeldaProduction wrote:Ok, fixed ratio detune added to the to-do list, I'm not saying it will be done yet though, needs some investigation

Release stage tremolo already in to-do list, random pannig will be investigated

OK thats something. I didn't mean the multiparams to have access over the A-H presets, I meant that all changes that the morphing makes are "transferred" into a multiparam. But as I said, nice to have goodieMeldaProduction wrote:Not really, you can just "Store" the settings in the bank. Of course you need to learn all of the parameters you want to access. Another minor thing: I noted that you actually CAN browse through the dialog buttons of some popups with cursor keys (e.g. if I am in the browser, click delete a preset, then I can switch by cursor between yes and no in the confirmation dialog). It's just that the normal buttons are Gray 50% and the highlighted one is Gray 51%

Aaaha, well, that will probably be impossible too I'm afraid. It would also be quite ineffective. The thing is, MPowerSynth has about 2000 parameters (theoretically infinite when using FX), so using all of that in an multiparameter would be, well, interesting...
You'd probably need quite a machine
.
About the buttons - yes, well
. It depends on the style, so you can easily grab the style editor and do it better
. The thing is, it's not that simple actually... again, long story, you'll find out if you try designing the styles

Can you sweep through custom wavetables with Mpowersynth? I haven't tried it, but it seems like it should be possible and if not it would be an easy feature to add.
I know you can do it with the basic wave forms, but can you do it with ones you load? If you can't I think this would be a great feature and it would allow a lot of cool new sounds. In additive mode we can analyze and load our own .wav files. It would be nice to be able to load 2 and then be able to morph between them. Then in the future add more steps, so we could morph between 3,4,25,168 different waveforms. It would give Mpowersynth features that only Serum and Codex have(AFAIK) and it doesn't seem that hard to implement.

Not really now. You can do that using 2 oscillators though and just manipulate the dry/wet of the other one. Wavetables could be possible, but so far I was saying no to this. I thought of a solution, but not sure yet...
